To me dragon Megatron is a transmetal II i like the theory of him being around the transmetal driver during the creation of dinobot II; leading to the cause of him becoming a transmetal II (combined with the lava w/e)

Actually, according to his instructions, the mask can be deployed in either beast or vehicle mode - the mask is supposed to be used whenever Tigerhawk uses those gattling cannons.

 

Furthermore, you can see in those instructions that his Transport Mode is just his beast mode with the mask on, legs pulled back, guns deployed and the robot-arm cannon lowered beneath the underbelly. That's it. Typical of Transmetal vehicle modes, it's just an intermediate beast mode..

Don't feel defeated just yet MadHammer. The fandom is split right down the middle over whether the fan club comics should count as official canon or fanboy wankage.

A little from column A and a little from column B at least.  By the way guys, I'm away for a few days and am just psyched that this thread lead to so many different realms.  Thanks for letting it go on for this long. :thumb

 

In any case, I do think that TM2 Megs and Tigerhawk are indeed TM2's just based on their makeup.  The technoorganic design that I'm just crazy about.  You know, I still wish that Has/Tak would make more of these toys.  I have the Hyeena (forgot his name off hand) and what a cool character.  Most of the TM2 designs were veery imaginative and offered a sense of adventure that I havn't seen really captured till Cybertron the Leobreaker/ Optimus Prime combination.  I think it's the asymmetrical thing that gets to me but I do think that the animal forms made very cool toys.  :luv

The way I see it is that Primal just kind of held Prime`s spark in the cockpit of his alt mode. Remember that glowing blue ball of energy otherwise known as Prime`s spark. Primal`s Spark was inside of his actuall body and he stored Prime`s in the cockpit. It was having the spark which contained the matrix within him that changed him not the two sparks mingling. Since two sparks just like two souls can`t combine. Well at least to  the best of my recolection that`s how it happened. Haven`t seen those episodes in over 6 yrs.

Not exactly what I meant. I knew about the Wreckers explanation for the spark thing. What I was originally referring to is stuff that people just make up and then act like it's the official explanation. At least a BotCon comic gives that *some* legitimacy. And to be honest it's the best fan explanation out there. I just prefer to go with the real answer, which is that Forward and DiTillio weren't all that clear on what the Autobot Matrix actually was. Which is fine with me; it doesn't affect my enjoyment of BW in the least.

 

As far as I'm concerned, the BotCon comics are only official if the writers consulted with the BW or BM writers and got their okay prior to creating the comics. Because imposing a new story upon a pre-existing one is the very definition of retcon. Which anyone could do (as we've seen).

 

That being said, if you *like* retcon or just need fan explanations for everything, by all means have at it. Enjoy away. :thumb

then how do you explain megs transformation to dragon? g1 megs never had the matrix. and two sparks have combined. tigatron+airazor=tigerhawk.
