He's the guy that did Terrorsaur isn't he? He did the voice for Starscream in the Beast Wars episode Possession right?

 

If that's him, he's pretty good. Unfortunately though, no one can really do that Starscream shreik like Chris Latta. Amazingly enougth; I had forgot about this until Madhammer and a few others told me; Latta also did Wheeljack as well. Starscream and Wheeljack sound nothing alike. I can tell the voices that Frank Welker did (and still does), and Peter Cullen doing Optimus Prime and Ironhide is pretty easy, but Starscream and Wheeljack sound totally different. You have to give Chris Latta credi for doing those. He was a very talented guy.

And Armada/Energon I believe.

Will DM give us a creepy robotic voice for Soundwave, or a more normal sounding voice?

I'm more concerned about Jazz's voice myself. The late Scatman Crothers had a one of a kind voice, and I'm not sure if anyone else can pull off Jazz's voice quite the same way. Sure, you can get some random hip-hop star like Jay-Z or whoever to do it, but it just won't feel the same... :tfsad

Yes, he does. He also does Cobra Commander in the new GIJoe CGI movies. Coincidence? I think not.

Who does Cobra Commander's voice on the new GI Joe CGI flicks? I've not seen any of them, but I know Cobra and Starscream had basically the exact same voice (and same voice actor, duh). Does Cobra still sound like Starscream, or did they change his voice up for the "new" GI Joe?

The guys in Maxim magazine had said something about him dying and that the voice of Hong Kong Phooey was gone. I was like Hong Kong Phooey? What are these guys smoking?!?!? He was Jazz. It was obvious that the Maxim guys are from the wrong era.

 

But yeah, getting a voice for Jazz will be dificult. Scatman left some hard shoes to fill.

Samuel L. Jackson? I don't think any celebrity voices should be in this movie except for Casey Kasem.

Actually Jazz shouldn't be a rock star either. You know, the guy's named "Jazz" and Scatman Crothers did his voice.... he talked like an old jazz guy from the 50's. As I've said before, if they're going to "update" his manner of speech accordingly, he should talk like George Clinton or Isaac Hayes or someone (i.e. 70's era funkster).

 

Of course, I'm not *suggesting* that; I'm just saying...

 

P.S. Diesel, the difference between David Kaye in BW/BM and Armada/Energon is simply the harsh reality of ADR. When you get to deliver your lines at your own pace, you get to actually "act" as opposed to just matching lip flaps as best you can.

 

P.P.S. Just wait until you hear Kaye's pitched-down voice in BM. :D
