Sonicron

my Blaster can hold the cassettes in his chest, whoever said the Device Label Blaster can't hold a G1 Cassette must not own him.

Now Music Label Soundwave I have no idea.

But for $85 and $100 respectively for exclusively Japanese that Hasbro would never bring over. These are not bad prices.

Especially since with Blaster you can hook him up to your computer through his USB ports, and Soundwave is also an MP3 Player

I second the recommendation for Device Label Blaster. (Heck, I recommend the DL lineup in it's entirety.)

Though, his inability to hold G1 Cassettes is correct part of the time. Due to his transformation, when he's in Laptop/USB hub mode, he can't* hold a cassette, but he can in robot mode just fine. :thumb

*unless you leave his head untucked in Laptop/USB hub mode. Then he can hold a cassette.

Being able to hold a cassette or not is not a deal breaker for me. It might be nice but honestly there are better things to worry about for a figure then whether or not it can hold one.

Device Label Soundwave will not hold a cassette Onslaught. He's too small and thats where the SD card goes.

Glad to hear that Blaster is worth it. I've been wanting one but just never got around to getting him on account of the $85. Granted, that is a good price for a Japanese product.

I don't have Sonicron (and, frankly, don't plan to) but if anyone wants a better look at Music Label Soundwave (and to see what he looks like hanging out with the "Classics" version or closest equivelent of some of his minions) I just put up a review of him (and aformentioned minions) on my review website. Lots of photos in the review.

I also don't like sonicron in neither mode. Tape casseete door is too over sized & ruins the whole proportions of the toy mold design.

I think music label blaster looks a bit better than music label soundwave.

I had a music label spark blue soundwave but sold it. because it was too tiny.

I like music label blaster the best, but I can't justify spending over $80 for a voyager sized toy. had hasbro released this for around or under $25 I would have bought this in a heart beat. I still think it's weird/wrong for blaster to get a lap top computer alt mode, instead of a boom box. I view as lap top as a smart alt mode for someone who's smart like perceptor. blaster never came off as a smart genious so this lap top computer doesnt fit his IQ persona.

I was actually going to buy this figure myself, but I just feel the proportions are lil off... maybe it was the pictures can any of you that own it confirm?

I've noticed some of the reviewers mis-transform him by forgetting to extend the midsection out from inside the chest. When it's fully extended, he looks much more proportionate.

Yea I saw that in the reviews... what bad PR... :(

For me, I feel the chest cavity is too wide in comparison to the figures limbs.

Having taken advantage of the BBTS clearance price I decided to get one and could actually have saved the money. It's only worth getting if you REALLY have a thing for Soundwave. Otherwise, don't sweat it.

I can't even get this to all lock together in tape player mode. the legs don't lock together, in fact something in there is preventing it from solidly locking flush, haven't figured out what. On top of that the arm that makes the right side won't lock properly. There is a T-shaped peg and slide piece that I can't get to slide up. Either the groove is too small, or there's too much plastic on one side of the T-peg. Not sure which it is. Also the crotch piece that locks the upper and lower body together won't slot in all the way, again, like it's obstructed or just won't fit.

I'm just leaving mine in bot mode. I've already seen some scary looking stress marks in places so I don't want to screw with it too much. For the original asking price though, it was wayyyyy too buggy.
