Just got home from the 9 pm first showing. I thought it was phenomenal. I disagree and we see some interesting developments from Optimus. The problem in my opinion with many reviewers is that when it comes to certain things, it's hard to see beyond the surface. We truly do see Optimus grow in a fashion. But you have to incorporate all the characters and everything to understand why he ultimately acts the way he does in the final battle, and it's not hard to see at all. The only thing that's truly stayed the same are Sam's parents. As for Carly, well, I though Huntington-Whitely for a shot at acting did an ok jobs. More than just a pretty face, and the whole havingto save the girl from the bad guys...Mikaela didn't really need any saving in movie 1 or ROTF. So what this reviewer is talking about I hav no clue.

We do get to see Barricade again and his role in the saga ends too

Just saw DOTM, and I have to say: this is far and away the best of the 3 Transformer films, and possibly Mike Bay's best MOVIE, period. I'd go so far as to say that 3 quarters of the movie was excellent. Yes, DOTM commits all of the sins that a Michael Bay movie typically commits, but...quite a lot of GOOD things are done in this movie. So, I'd have to give Bay & Co. a lot of credit, because it wasn't just the special effects that did it for me.

There were some things that just didn't make a lot of sense and one scene in particular (or rather the buildup to that scene) had me on the fence about this movie but overall, I liked it quite a bit. Mike Bay has successfully exorcised the demon that is ROTF.

I thought the movie was awesome. Far better than the first two. It helps to not be so damn demanding when watching a movie. Its just a movie, its not the end of the world if you don't get what you want.

I like LP and all, but did they really have to go and play that Iridescent song like 5 or more times during the movie?

saw the movie at 9pm as well.

I liked it. My biggest complain about #2 was the lack of character developement. I think they did a "MUCH" better job in this one. Gotta admit, the use of Sentinal Prime shocked me.

Aspects of it seem choppy, and not that fluent. Almost like there was so much to show and discuss, that no one got a lot of screen time. I wish they had used the trailer more. There was 2 shots, maybe, of megatrons truck mode - and no real reason/use for it. Just seemed like a lot of characters didn't get much screen time. The humor was definately better than w/the twins. (oh, we gunna F this ship up) LOL.

I think knowing it was the last one - they took some liberties as well in killing various characters off.

Overall VERY entertaining tho. Well worth the time/money and a nice improvment after #2.

Before going to see DOTM I crafted an adjective for how I thought the film would be: Awesomazing. Just having seen it, I'll have to pack that word away for a while.

I greatly enjoyed the film, but I'll carry the sting of Sentinel Prime's betrayal and Ironhide's death for some time yet. Couple that with things like Wheeljack and Mirage being called Q and Vino (stupid, stupid names) and while I'm satisfied with the end to this trilogy I'm not jumping up and cheering.

Personally I loved Optimus and his handling of the final battle. He appealed to SP right to the end and when he realized there could be no redemption OP executed him. VERY satisfying. On the way out of the theater I was telling my wife how the OP from the '07 film would've taken SP prisoner. I enjoyed Optimus' evolution. Repeated betrayal hardens human and Cybertronian alike. OP did what needed to be done. Add the deaths Barricade, Starscream, Megatron, Soundwave, and Shockwave and I could never call this movie bad.

The Dreads scene was sweet. It kinda reminded me of The Matrix: Reloaded's freeway chase scene. Seeing them running down the freeway instead of speeding in alt mode made them look so badass.

Sentinel was a good twist/huge surprise. I thought they hid that info pretty well.

I already read the novelization, so I know what to expect story wise. So, when I finally get to see it Saturday (work schedule, love that adulthood), I plan to sit back and enjoy the show. I like the story I read, now I just want to see some smashing.
