No...You're not listening.... It's ONE thing for a character to not need facial expressions, but when they designed the face to ALWAYS BE FROWNING and then have him LAUGH and talk gloating in some scenes, THAT shit is just wrong and stupid! Nor does it work at all!

 

The smirk may not be Starscream's primary defining characteristic, but it's still a MAJOR one. Why else do you think MP03 has an alternate face with a smirk on it? Why else does every SS promotional image show him smirking or grinning?

Because it is not a Major trait for Starscream, facial expressions are not major or trademarked traits. Starscream is defined by his personality and cowardliness when confronted by a major force. he acts tough and he does have delusions of grandeur, always thinking he would be a better leader then Megatron and will betray when your back is turned but ultimately his major trait is his cowardliness.

yes that is indeed another trait of his. you described several other ones, but the facial expressions are key for him. As proven in DOTM, him ACTING happy but looking pissed simply came off as absurd! For all I care he couldve gotten away with not even HAVING a mouth! But one thats stuck in a frown was the worst idea....

But saying TFs have no need to emote due to it not making any sense is ridiculous. Why then are the Decepticons speaking in English? They hate Earth and humans, yet they seem to enjoy using our language an awful lot! The whole sensical half of TFs doesnt hold much water now, does it?

Just saying. He makes movies for people like her. The ones who don't care whether or not Soundwave was white and not blue or if Starscream can smile and show off his pearly whites. Bay made it for people like my mom who don't give a hoot and want to see shit blow up. He succeeded and will make a killing. He won. I'm over it. I enjoyed the movie for what it was. I would have much more enjoyed something with a little for depth that what we were given but it is what it is.

 

Now i'm going to wait in front of the calendar until i can go see Captain America.
