It's not what I had expected, but I must admit that I like it. A whole lot better than Breakdown which I found kind of boring (but not as great as Dead End :P )

 

Sure, the name is a weak pun, but I'm happy they didn't use the Blurr mold. Not just because it would be too predictable, but I'm also not that crazy about that mold. And the nod to Kill Bill is also fun.

 

I'm very curious for the remaining figures. Hope Wildrider won't be Lockdown since the colors are just too similar (I'm still hoping they'll use Sentinel). But Wildrider is good and if Ultra Magnus is used for Motormaster then I'm going to give in and buy the set (which will be a first).

It looks nice, but took me completely by surprise. Making Dragstrip a girl for Animated isn't too bad, they did it to Red Alert after all. Though the Kill Bill reference is kinda cool.

 

 

Okay, I'll admit, I did NOT see this coming, but I also have to admit this makes getting this set more tempting just because I love this mold so much. Besides, it's a seperate universe, G1 dragstrip will always be a guy, while animated Dragstrip will always have been girl, it's not like they took G1 Dragstrip and magically sex-changed him. Besides there's waaaay too many dude-bots as it is, we need more femmes.

 

Hopefully this set will be affordable!

@Tfboy - you might end up being correct, but I could never look at this mold (even if they had put a new head on it) and see a masculine character. I'm okay

with DS being female in the Animated continuity, but I'll turn an extremely jaundiced eye to them (or anyone else) trying to convince us that this figure is supposed to be male. What if Wildrider ends up being this mold too, with a different head? I'd be okay with WR and DS being a duo of Animated female assassins. . . I'm getting 'em no matter what. Besides, I've alway envisioned an alternative version of the Animated Stunticons based on the episode with the illegal racing, and will still probably build them some day, so getting this set is merely fan-service for me.

Botcon is calling Dragstrip a "She" on Twitter. Just because the character may be male in one universe, doesn't keep the character from being female in another. (Red Alert, for example, is male in most TF universes and female in Animated.)

 

and Airrazor is historically gender ambigious, with an exception of Transmetal. :lol :P

You shouldn't trust the people there. I really don't care if there right or not, but I do care if they have an OFFICiAL resource to back them up. So in the mean time, I will stay where I stand, untill other wise. :D

I think your the one who doesn't get it. Dragstrip in Animated is a girl. The BotCon guys said that she's a girl. So it's not just a feminine dude, it's a girl character. Are you going to tell them that they're wrong that the character they made is something else? There's no room for debate.

Why would they use Sentinel Prime for Wildrider? That would make no sense. He's a 4X4 and Wildrider's a Ferrari. It's got to be Lockdown or Blur.

I didn't know (or find/see) that, untill, you mentioned it. If that's the way it is then fine, but I still thing that using this mold was a bad idea in the first place. :P

I'm a little surprised by the choice myself. Still, looks neat, and I always give everything the benefit of the doubt. I owe that much to Transformers :P
