I have to say of all the Botcon exclusive sets so far, this one is the least interesting.

It looks nice, but took me completely by surprise. Making Dragstrip a girl for Animated isn't too bad, they did it to Red Alert after all. Though the Kill Bill reference is kinda cool.

Because you knew that TF:A would be recycled sooner or later. Kinda funny that the TRU exclusive molds (Rodimus/Arcee) are being used for this set.

I was really predicting/hoping for a Lockdown repaint with a new head sculpt, of at least the predictable Blurr. And to make matters worse, I'm too late to make any good Drag puns!

 

Though as someone mentioned, they are using the TRU exclusive molds, so allow me to make a quick prediction. TRU Ratchet/Ironhide repaint/retool into Autotrooper.

The first FAIL of the boxed set... and hopefully the only one. I wonder if Drag Strip knew he was in for a trans-op :tflaugh

 

Though I will admit, the alt mode makes sense. But the robot mode is just all shades of wrong.

Man, all you need to do in remold the head and everything will be fine. THE HEAD! ( It's BM Optimal Megatron all over again. :P )

 

I don't agree. the body is just too feminine looking. It's not befitting of a rough and rowdy Stunticon.

Yup ... I REALLY don't like this at all, and for a couple of reasons. First, it's way too feminine, and if DS IS supposed to be a girl then yeah, that's just wrong... no sex changing my bots please lol. The alt mode looks good, and I totally understand that, but the mode is just all sorts of wrong for this character.

 

The thing that REALLY makes me upset about this though is that they're using such a hard to find mold. This makes 2 figures now of this mold, that in order to get, you either have to be damn lucky, or pay out the ass for it. If TRU hadn't had the debacle with it's initial release, then I'd be ok with it... but this is just kind of like rubbing salt in an all too fresh of a wound. I like this mold, and really wanted to get an Arcee, but I'm also not paying scalper prices for it, and I'm yet to even meet or hear rumors about a single figure showing up here in Vegas, yet Rodimus is warming the shelves and they can't get rid of him. This is extremely frustrating to see Drag strip get this ... :tdown :grr :damnit

Its not that bad. Another femme bot couldnt hurt and Drag Strip's original character isnt that notable.

I think she's beautiful - I can't wait for this set - it'll definitely be the first botcon set I buy. I love me some Animated figures!
