I guess this somewhat makes sense if you think about how dragstrip was a repaint of classics mirage and was also repainted into fracture, who is a "girl." So, it's not like it hasn't happened before? :shrug

Classics Mirage was a little femmy, with that narrow waist and wide hips.

 

 

Putting aside the whole "Drag Strip as a girl" thing, this is the second toy in this set to not have a new head sculpt.

The problem I'm having with this BotCon set is that all of the toys are familiar, too familiar. These are all toys that we recently bought, we who liked Animated anyway, so it's kind of boring. The same goes for the JoeCon set, although I think that one is even worse. They are all of the same figures that we have in one form or another.

I don't see how people are getting excited over this junk, plus another Breakdown? didn't they just have him last year? Him and Sideswipe are the two with the most appearances in Botcon. The should have used the Universe molds again along with Cybertron figures.

There are supposed to be three new head molds in this year's set. That means Wildrider and Motormaster will sport new heads along with Breakdown.

I love it! To me it's now the only interesting one in an otherwise boring ass repaint party.

 

Hope it is so unpopular that i can get it for cheap. It's awesome.

Okay, I'll admit, I did NOT see this coming, but I also have to admit this makes getting this set more tempting just because I love this mold so much. Besides, it's a seperate universe, G1 dragstrip will always be a guy, while animated Dragstrip will always have been girl, it's not like they took G1 Dragstrip and magically sex-changed him. Besides there's waaaay too many dude-bots as it is, we need more femmes.

They know that these will all sell out...

while animated Dragstrip will always have been girl,

 

 

We don't know this yet. They might give Dragstrip some twisted back story and make him the Buffalo Bill of the Animated continuity.
