Fans Project Bruticus Upgrade sets up for preorder on BBTS

Recommended Posts

I don't know about the upgrades from other companies but I've been pretty happy with the FP stuff. In my opinion though, the Battle Rollar isn't that great a figure. Sure it's cheaper but aesthetically it matches better to movie figs than Classic figs that they seem to show it more often with. Also it's not a fully transforming figure.

Comparing the figures in this to mass released items from Has/Tak isn't fair either. Has/Tak can sell thousands of those figures which keeps the prices down. FP will probably sell hundreds or in the low thousands so they have to have higher prices to cover their costs. Also Has/Tak will reissue a mold tons of times in different lines so they can make their money years down the line. The upgrade kits are only good for the combiner set they are made....well to an extent. I've already seen someone put Superion feet and hands on a Bruticus. But the idea is that they are limited in their use.

Considering the Superion parts were $45 and it was just a bunch of add on pieces I like the idea of spending $48 or whatever on an actual figure that takes more skill in making and adds a lot more aesthetically to the figure than the add on parts of Superion.

Even with all that being said, yeah it's more than I'd like to pay but so are all the toys that are out nowadays. Oh and I'm trying to coordinate a group buy for this as well. It doesn't sound like very many people have the set so I'm only going to order a few pieces. I'll put up a thread in the end cap when I get more info.

Looks like TFsource is selling them as a bundle, you save $8. I'll most likely order from them.... if I do get the set.

Shit this set is awesome sauce! Its been awhile since i have posted here, as i am currently using a computer that has no video (hence cant watch youtube ect. :( ) and have a hard time getting to the library to use one. But i am keeping up with the news best i can, and im more then happy with the Sea Spray and WFC figures coming out. Not to mention the PCC's that should be out later this year. Sooooo, im not sure if i will end up getting this FP set or not. But it would be nice, as it kicks SO much ass its crazy. Plus i sold off my Energon set a few years back before ever even opening it. :S I wish i at least opened it. :shrug

You can proeorder both at Robotkingdom for $89.90: link

This is only the second time I've preordered a toy.

And Liege, I just ordered the new anime Battle Rollar from them, too. I passed on it the first time, but then when I found out everything it could do I was so glad to see the mold coming out again.

Shipping from Robot Kingdom brings the total (the the States anyways) to $116.26...so it's probably not going to matter if you get it as a "bundle" or separately through someone else when it's all said and done. I want these so freaking bad, but I don't know if I can justify that price with my current financial situation. Man this sucks! I guess it's time to start Ebaying off the stuff I don't want as much!

I'm pretty sure, IIRC, that the total price with shipping both sets from BBTS was still more than RK.

You seriously think BBTS is going to charge more than $16 shipping for these two guys??? Like I said, it's going to be very close price wise in the end.

This is completely awesome. I know it's expensive but come on guys, this is what a Bruticus toy is supposed to look like.

I was just checking these out a few nights ago...damn, they look good, but...NEED MORE MONEY!! Oh, to be a Transformers collector and to be BROKE! :doh

It will be close, I just did a mock order and with their cheapest shipping rate the BBTS total is $106.79 shipped to NJ. Aslo keep in mind thats not with the $2 a pop bump for collector grade.

Like I been saying, I love using RobotKingdom, but when it comes to a company like Fansproject who dictates price, you'll save a few dollars on shipping using a domestic site.

That really is close though.

I live internationaly to both companies, so I'm not sure who I'm gonna go with. TFsource does have $8 off if you buy both, so I may even go with them depending on shipping costs from them.

I tend togo with RK. They send out quick as well as being cheaper

It's kind of unfortunate they decided to release these as two sets instead of one.

Why's that? This way, if someone only wants to get one of the two figures they don't have to pay the price of both. And if someone else wants to get both they can just order both. The only advantage I can think of by selling them together is so you people wouldn't have to search stores for both of them, but this isn't going to be sold in retail, right?

Wrong.

Think about it for a moment? What is the point of just owning the one figure if you're not going to use it with the full combination upgrade, hmm? Sure, you can combine just ONE of these with Bruticus and not be able to use most of the other add ons to make the full Bruticus upgrade but why would you do that? So your toy can be half arsed? Sort of good but still half suck? The ONLY advantage of selling them separate is that if you don't have a hundred dollars to spend all at once you can buy one set for fifty and then when you have the other fifty buy the other. No point in just owning one set JUST for the figure, don't be daft.
