I never got the whole obsession with Dinobot, he seemed like he was constantly trying WAY to hard to be the Bad @$$. I didn't see ALL the episodes, but I did see a lot of them. Did he turn down the volume later on?

 

Well, if you didn't like Dinobot at first, you probably won't like him later on. Personally I don't think he was trying to be a badass -- he was just conflicted about the choices he'd made and hadn't fully embraced the idea of being a Maximal. So he tended to stick out sometimes in the things he said and did. However, I think he's one of the better character on the show, and that's saying something.

 

He was also involved in some hilarious moments. The funniest thing he ever did IMO was right after the quantum surge "transmetal-ized" Rattrap. Dinobot took one look at Rattrap's new body and lazily spun one of the wheels on his back with his finger, as if to say "wheeee...". :clap

I mean even now in Energon (which is also Japanese) Megatron is willing to let Uniocron devour Cybeertron. Come on! I would never allow anyone to destroy my home and neither would G1 or BW Megatron.

BW basically KILLED the first generation of fans, and I blame it for CREATING G1 purists. I know I was pissed about the stupid garbage it threw out there and expected us long-term fans to just swallow. Micron Legend and Superlink, going into Galaxy Force are the best series, PERIOD. They feel like fantasy epics, which is something that no Western writer can even BEGIN to grasp. This is why Final Fantasy rocks, Diablo and D&D suck...This is why games like Silent Hill are amazing and junk like the Suffering is forgotten within a month. The Japanese are simply SUPERIOR when it comes to their ability to produce, and create...America will always be second-rate with it's production of creative subjects, cars, electronics, and so on...

I actually thought the end of Beast Wars AND the end of Beast Machines were fairly epic. The best Anime Epic I ever saw was Giant Robo....man that thing was cool.

Fantasy epics..Tolkien...Dear god, you ever READ Tolkien? I'd rather have my face ripped off by cenobites. If not for the fantastic movies(with their overlooked flaws), No one would give a rat's ass about Tolkien.

 

 

D&D is pretty much at the forefront of loserisms, right next to Star Wars, Star Trek, and TRANSFORMERS.

 

Final Fantasy 8? That's my favorite of the series, surpassed only by FFX because of it's amazing graphics and *EPIC* progression.
