Anyway, I think the link with The G1 realy add something to BW and without it, it wouldn't be the same. It's a great show and I let you guess who was my favorite carachter

 

But there is still something that piss me off about BW, and none of you will be able to argue with that: They still haven't aired season 3 here.

BW basically KILLED the first generation of fans, and I blame it for CREATING G1 purists. I know I was pissed about the stupid garbage it threw out there and expected us long-term fans to just swallow. Micron Legend and Superlink, going into Galaxy Force are the best series, PERIOD. They feel like fantasy epics, which is something that no Western writer can even BEGIN to grasp. This is why Final Fantasy rocks, Diablo and D&D suck...This is why games like Silent Hill are amazing and junk like the Suffering is forgotten within a month. The Japanese are simply SUPERIOR when it comes to their ability to produce, and create...America will always be second-rate with it's production of creative subjects, cars, electronics, and so on...

Wow. You have no taste in anime, or in general. If you'd take the time to reel that elitist head out of your arse in time to realize that this isn't about East versus West, that'd tell me you were a tad more open minded than you let on...

 

Really, the fact that you step up to defend quite possibly one of the biggest wastes of television and CG that is Micron/Superlink and a large chunk of the Japanese continuity of TF (which happens to include BW2 and BW Neo... gah....) is just sad. There's plenty of decent titles out there to watch and you waste your time on shoddy toy tie-in shows and tell those who endure it that despite the fact that they're looking at trash that they should be seeing solid gold. In denial much?

 

If you think the trash Aeon is putting out is "epic", you should start watching big kid anime. Hell, at least graduate to the teenaged series. Try Generator Gawl, Nadesico, Lain, Bubblegum Crisis, Evangelion, Hellsing or at least something that might make you a little less of a sour puss than you demonstrate here like Ranma or Urusei Yatsura.

 

Silent Hill works because they managed a damn good formula. The suffering was pretty straightforward horrorific gorefest which appeals to a very different demographic than those that flock to Silent Hill and that blight on gaming and good sense that Capcom keeps alive, Resident Evil/Biohazard. The Suffering is a great game for what it is, spectacularly violent and depressingly abrupt in its playtime... a lot like Resident Evil which is... *gasp* a japanese game! Silent Hill is about causing lasting psychological damage and it does so quite well, that is... if that is what you're shopping for. Mental problems. I should know, I have all four. And the mental problems, which is why I suppose I understand you so well.

 

That you have the gall to insult people because they see a car wreck in animation and prefer something with plot as opposed to poorly dubbed, already awful japanese trash disappoints me. That you can't maintain a level of maturity that better suits a moderator disgusts me and makes me question the management of the board in general also making me wonder why no one has taken steps to reign you in. It's mostly people like you that polarize our community, making it difficult to discuss with eachother the things that make the franchise that brought together so wonderful.

If any of you knew anything about Armada, the true story to it, then you'd appreciate them and what the writer was able to compile.

Perhaps if I read and/or knew the entire story it might make me more open to them. But after watching Beast Wars, I just have no time or patience for silly little children in a Transformers cartoon. I don't really care what they have to say, or what impact, if any, they have in the series.

I really love Beast Wars. I, like my bud Madhammer, am really looking forward to seeing Beast Machines as well. Especially after talking to a guy at the new comic book store I frequent who said that Beast Machines was really, really, awesome.

 

I can only hope that sometime in the future, that Mainframe will be able to do another Transformers cartoon series. Maybe Trans Tech or something new, but I really hope they are able to do it again.

Human involvement can be really cool, in fact, I think Energon is really great, yes, this is my first post. But I love this topic. When I first watched BW, I hated it, nothing about inconsistancies, I guess its because the series sucked on the first few episodes. But now I'm back to TF because of Energon. Its good, but the jap writers really intend it for kids. Otherwise the series has a very good chance of being an adulterated show. Megatron is so intelligent and abusive in the show, I love it, I really miss how robots would be torn up.

 

Sadly, this isn't that show. BW is good but it doesn't have enough complexities, its quite limited. How do I know? I just downloaded some and realised so hehe. What the hell? Your criticisms are all sorts of jumbled. How the hell is BW inconsistent? Why did the episodes suck? How does Megatron seem the least bit intelligent when he's a cliched anime blustering tyrant? You watch anime... well... some... so you should know better, dammit.

At any rate, you don't even know the reasons I was against BW. What they turned into was not a problem, we had plenty of beastie TFs previously. To avoid a progressively ranty post, I'll simply state that the big points against it were the inability to stay as robots for extended periods (yes, I know why; I should also note that the robots looked more natural in CGI, so doing the reverse would've appealed more to me visually in the CGI medium), and the barren, isolated, unpopulated world was offputting. I would've preferred some kind of completely alien world over a prehistoric earth.

 

Chances are I'd have preferred the setting of Beast Machines, but by that time ALL the characters were eyesores.

 

I probably wouldn't mind a nice Best Of BW DVD since there's episodes everyone seems to like, but I would never invest in the entire series.
