Beast Wars is the BEST!

Recommended Posts

I quite liked beastwars, though was bombarded to death with reruns of it with every season of it and very inconsistant airing of the show. The characters are good in my view with the exception of Megatron who was a tad to psychotic in my view. The tie in with G1 was quite good and made it a coherrent story.

As to the size, I thought that the Predacons and Maximals were more a descendant group of the micromasters.

Oh and MarcusPrime, please behave, Xbob was just giving a note on his preference, you should not attack someone else on someone's opinion or likes and dislikes unless they are harmfull to others and in those case it's work for the moderators.

I may be nuts but I love Waspinator. That guy is funny. :tflaugh

Ol' Waspy's frickin' hilarious! Another character that cracked me up was Inferno, with his "For the Royalty!!!" and addressing Megatron with "Yes, my Queen!"

Beast Wars = Best Transformers Series Ever!

I for one also liked the fact that they were smaller than their Autobot/Decepticon ancestors. Since they were from the distant future, it made it more interesting.

Now I can't wait to see Beast Machines in it's entirety, as I never got to follow it when it was on television.

Be warned -- it is RADICALLY different from Beast Wars. There are a lot of character changes etc. Now they *did* do an excellent job IMO of tying BM in to BW (flashbacks, references to BW stuff, etc), but it's got a very different feel. It's much more spiritual and not as gritty as BW was.

I'm just saying this because a lot of TF fans freaked out when BM first aired. They couldn't handle how different it was.

If I were a G1 purist, i might dare say that BW was great due to the G1influences and refernces, but since I stopped that geewun behavior, I wont dare mention such statement. :tfevil

Yeah, best not mention that. :tflaugh

Beast Wars stands on its own. The G1 references are great for G1 fans, but even if you never saw G1, the show is still great. They explain all you need to know about G1 in the show anyway. Ultimately what makes Beast Wars great is the Beast Wars characters and storyline.

Yeah, I'm aware of that. I just didn't get to see the full story because of the inconsistentcy of the airtimes. I did find it quite interesting though. I have no expectations of it.

Inferno was my favorite (obviously). Cracked me up every time he was on screen.

His best lines were in "Coming of the Fuzors" part 1:

"Waa-hahahaha! Fool! Pain is my friend! Allow me to introduce you to it!"

"Insolent worms. Burrrnnn in the fires of Inferno!"

and from "Other Visits" part 1:

"I don't Rock and Roll, I burn!"

Did the Japanese continuity have any thing to do with the show we were able to watch?

Actually it did, at least according to the Japanese. After Primal blew up in the quantum surge thing, he went to another planet and fought in the Japanese Beast Wars. after that he came back to Earth.

Personally, I'm not surprised he never brought it up. :tflaugh

Maybe the trip back through Quantum space stripped those memories form his spar? Or maybe it just didn't relate. It would have been cool though if they made some type of reference to BW II or Neo or what ever it's called.

t3h Wrongz0rz11111 Magnaboss useed some sort of Time Travil divise to Bring ConvoyII to Giea, His Matrix reacted with Lio Convoys matix and they got Powered up forms, Shining LioConvoy, and Burning Convoy. They used there "Double Matrix Blast" to hit Majin Zaraks weak point(third eye) and kill him. ConvoyII was reterned home after that.

I`m sure I`ll get blasted for some of my statements, but hey, I can`t help the way I feel.

I agree that G1 was basically 1 giant commercial to sell toys. But when I was a kid I didn`t know any better. Or didn`t really care. Those toys to me were really state of the art. And the characters i just grew accustomed to and always thought that is how they should be.

As far as the story goes from the G1 toon, There were some cool episodes and some really silly ones that I still can`t bring myself to watch ever again.

But that time in my life as kid was so magical within that show and all of the toys it was difficult to see my childhood heroes look any different. I just remember the day that i saw Beast Wars for the first time while seeing them in their bot modes only minutes later seeing them transform into these animals and monsters I couldn`t help but laugh hysterically. Still can`t get used to it. Used to seeing Optimus Prime being as a kick a$$ semi only to go to a freakin ape. :roll Just couldn`t get used to it.

I could really only watch the show a few times because cause I was so busy with other obligations so I`m not positve if the characters were the same ones from the previous or if they were all new or what. so it was kind of sporadic.

I do agree that BW`s was written better. But when you have a popular show from the 80`s that had a lot of holes in it like G1, and take what, not sure, 8-10 years?to base a new story off of that and perfect it so as to not have many if any holes, it should come out better. More time to fix, polish and perfect. Basically what I`m trying to say is that the writer(s) learned from the past to avoid making the same mistakes.

Don`t get me wrong. I respect Beast Wars coming along and bringing a much needed shot in the arm to Transfomers, I just couldn`t accept the fact that they used the Transformers name and G1 tie-ins to help sell or promote this new/different look.

To me, Transformers will always be the "robots in disguise" from the 80`s.

Sorry to piss anyone off that prefers Beast Wars over G1.
