Saw the movie last night at the drive-in. Kinda missed the first hour because of the baby, but here's my first impression: DISAPOINTED.

 

Optimus: good as usual, but somehow I didn't care at all when he died

Jetfire: loved him, funny, makes me like the toy even better... his sacrifice was too rushed and so was the otherwise good combination

Bumblebee: barely cared for him

Ratchet: useless

Ironhide: useless

Skids/Mudflap: background material, nothing to write home about... people calling them racists should have their head checked

Sideswipe: useless for the most part, could have been used more

Jolt: even more useless

Wheelie: fun, he was perfect until he starting humping Megan... useless scene

Arcee and her sisters: useless, Arcee should have teamed up with Mikaela

Fallen: completely useless and the movie is supposed to be about him!

Megatron: not the leader he's supposed to be

Starscream: he was okay, nothing spectacular

Soundwave: more of him please

Constructicons: dangling balls = stupid... combination should have been more dramatic... he should have been THE bad guy to beat at the end

Sideways: lame

Sam: good

Mikaela: good

Alice: good but how she got introduced was too rushed

Simmons: very good, my favorite human

Leo: f*** him

Lennox: didn't care

Aaron Pierce: liked him, but it's weird to see him back in a different role

Sam's parents: completely useless, especially in Egypt

 

All in all, a lot of pointless and rushed action. The first movie had less robots but was more focussed.

 

I'm going to watch it alone tonight to see if my opinion can change.

I went yesterday with my 2 daughters and wife. The only thing my older daughter asked was "how do you distinguish the good guys from the bad guys in the end of the movie." Younger daughter was pretty much at awe with the action. The lewd sattire is mostly to attract non-TFans. To bring more box office money.

I think that that has been an increasing trend with a lot of movies though... "throw in sex and people will watch"

It's a shame but it is a badly made movie, people can apologise for it all they want but there in denial if they think it was a good piece of cinema, it could have been great but it settled for rehashing the last film and making it less comprehensive, a sad fail.

I saw it last night and as a whole I enjoyed it however there were plenty of ???? moments such as:

What the hell happened to Barricade? Thought Bay said early on that it would be explained in this movie.

Jolt: One robot appearance and one alt appearance= why was he even included.

Grindor/Blackout: well which is it. Don't reuse old CGI if you arent going to explain that it's a different character.

Random Bonecrusher apearance. see Grindor/Blackout

THE FALLEN WAS LLLLAAAAAMMMMMMEEEEE!!!!!!! Knew he would be.

 

I was suprised by the twins though. I thouht they were a good addition.

 

I also couldn't believe the amount of kids that were barely old enough to walk or talk. last time I checked this movie is PG-13. I had a kid behind me making noise the entire movie. with about fifteen minutes left I turned around and told the mother that I had waited two years for this movie and if her kid can't behave then she should have left him at home and I didn't appreciate the constant noise so she finally left. I would not take a young kid to watch this mvie that's for sure but as an adult fan and collector I appreciated it for what it was.

I am still confused by something. Was the movir called the "fallen" for him or for the decepticons in general?

For him. He uses the word revenge himself I think.

I still want to see the movie...but I don't want it to be in a crowded movie theater with people only there because it's a "Cool" movie to see.

 

From what I am reading the movie did exactly what it was suppose to....

 

Bring in Big Bucks at the box office. The true test will be how long it can bring in the money and how well it does on DVD. I'm curious to see what scenes they cut.

 

I'm going to see the movie with an "Open Mind" but with some expectation. I am an Alternators/Binaltech, but apparently that is too simple of a concept for people to flock to the movie theatres over.

I'm kinda tired of hearing all the people offended by some silly humor.

 

People need to quit taking themselves so seriously.

 

 

Morality had VERY little to do with why we liked TF's as a kid. We simply liked it because it was cool to see transforming robots beat the crap out of each other. If you believe otherwise, you're lying to yourself.

 

These movies weren't made for little kids. They were meant for the more mature crowd that grew up TF's and to expand the brand beyond that of a kids toyline.

 

If people simply don't find the humor funny, then so be it. No need to ruin for the masses who thought it was hilarious!

 

This is entertainment folks, not pandering to any one group. If you like it, fine. If don't, that's fine too but there's no need to go above and beyond the call to deal with sour grape issues.

 

If you want morality, let me suggest staying home and watching the Lifetime channel. Lots of moral tales to warm your bones and little to no inappropriate language or humor.

I agreed the Fallen was completely dissapointing, its supposed to be about him and he's laying around hiding because he's scared of Prime. ( though after seeing him in action who wouldn't be. ;) ) I mean he's supposed to be the "ultimate badass" with infinite powers. I liked the brutal death of him losing his face and being impaled but it just seemed way to easy. Don't get me wrong I love the toy more than ever and like the Fallen I just wish he lived up to his name. I wanted to see more of his powers.

 

Jetfire just awesome in my opinion. When he told Simmons to shut it I lol'd. Very energetic so an old guy, shame he had to die.

 

Devastator best treat my eyes have laid eyes on. Even better on the big screen, thinking about seeing him in IMAX. I thought the combination was good and when he starting sucking stuff up including the twins priceless. Just a shame he was destroyed so easily like rest of the Cons.

 

Soundwave at first I didn't like his voice but it grew on me, it fits him. Wish we got more of him.

 

Sideswipe probably the only autobot I liked next to Prime and Ironhide, sleek, athletic, and a killing machine.
