most especially Deluxe Payload - the falling off parts, horrible plunger in his back, and the like are not redeemed by any aspect of this figure.

Agreed. I wish I read this thread before I bought the stupid thing...

I JUST got this figure from Amazon. I was basing the purchase on the pictures. Looked like an awesome figure in both vehicle and robot mode.

You can't tell by the pictures that there is that big plunger-claw thing sticking out the back. And of course they wouldn't mention in the item description that the head, the grill, arms, the thing at the business end of the plunger-claw, and other parts fall off just by looking at it wrong.

What a piece of crap. I'm already debating gluing some of the parts in place because I know my son will easily lose half of the things that fall off.

Seems like a pretty delicate transformation... delicate in that if you don't move things just right it'll snap the part right off. Definitely not as sturdy as the DropKick figure by any stretch.

Movie Deluxe Dropkick....

He's not so much a "flop" as he is disappointing. Almost everyone on the net was calling him second only to 08 Bumblebee (best of the Movie Deluxe line, IMO), so I really looking forward to getting him. A prolonged search where I couldn't find him to save my life only fuelled my desire to have this figure. Once I got him it was pretty much a "meh" moment for me. The shoulders don't connect properly, and there's way to much backpack kibble. I don't usually hold a "backpack" against the figure, but with Dropkick the backpack seemed to overpower the figure.

I thought the Dropkick figure was pretty solid. I like how you refer to all the junk on the back as backpack kibble. True enough. Between that, the flipped up hood/corner panel and the doors, he is definitely top heavy.

But kudos for not making him another camera-lens head. I like the backward-knee leg action... definitely different. The jury is still out on the hand-cannons.

Cool paint job.

I kind of like how the shoulder joint is kind of angled to go up from the front position of the truck. Again, something different. Granted it doesn't lock in place very well so a little jarring and his arms will flop.

But overall I'd say he's a pretty slick figure. I like him better than the majority of the movie figures.

TransTech is the worst flop of the year. It's bad enough that we have several non-transforming robot lines (Robot Heroes, Robot Replicas) and a laughable "transformation" line (Turnarounds), but to have toys with the Transformers brand that are neither robots nor vehicles? FLOP.

For those complaining about lack of 08 BB, go check your walmarts NOW. The Recovery is bringing many of these back.

To me, the biggest flop was Hasbro not making a Voyager sized Bonecrusher. His DLX form blows, and is to me, the worst TF in the movie line. Another flop was not making the "biggest Decepticon", Blackout, into a leader sized TF, either.

But the biggest flop of '08 will be the tons of repaints coming our way.

Ok to be fair, most of the deluxes I like and have (or had ex fiancee's son had my Bonecrusher :(). Blackout I have, and I wish I didn't simply due to one word KIBBLE...the prototype looked well cool, the toy well fool.

I actually like Baricade, and the hard rubber head was an inspired move to get all his pointy bits. Scorps well I have the G1 boxed in the loft so no comparison really, all other reuses of the name are complete Balls the golf-cart.

Looking at the movie toy, well does he do all the things he did in the movie? Yes actually he does, spinny claws, pokey mutant tail like thing; the action pieces of him are there, but only because there's bugger all else to him.

I'm going to say it, and get cursed for it. MP Megatron. I have him, I love him, I hate him. Cool as a robot, cool as a gun, it's just some of the bits in the middle (shout LEGS), oh and the weight of his fusion canon making the shoulder floppy.

Movie Megatron, utter Nosecone, Blot and Powerglide. Anybody want a cake mix made? He's your bot with his Edward Megahands thing going on. A crap character, badly designed, and just generally CRAPPO. I cannot slag it off enough. crap crap CRAP!

Leader class Megatron, oh cool! GIANT CRAP anyone?!

Movie repaints come a close second.

Have to admit I'm glad I have all three versions of BB, the 07 concept and the target evolution of a hero twopack :D

Ultimate Bumblebee. Giant partsforming piece of slag.

I'd say Starscream... Really, I'm not much of a fan of the gorilla styling. In addition, not having hands is a gripe of mine, but also having feather-touch launchers (I shot myself in the mouth yesterday. I'm 25...)

However, knowing that the bot isnt so spectacular, I figured the alt would be sweet.

Alas no. It looks like the F-22 picked up the bottom half of skylinx...

Really not happy with this one. The legs feel brittle, the proportions are wacky, no hands and I can hurt myself...

Jazz... I dont mind the body, but.. the arms... even some way to clip the 2 halves together. I would be alright with that. But no. You just mash them together.

Biggest :fail of 2007 IMO was the bot con exclusive seeker set IMO.

Those so should have been part of Universe 2.0s line up.

Moviewise I'm going to say FAB Brawl. Makes the deluxe look like a masterpiece.

Worst was probably Payload which I was smart enough to avoid like the plague.

The rest of the line had it's ups and downs but for the most part I like most of them.

I will however say that voyager Prime was probably the biggest let down. Seriously that backpack is the least of that molds problems.

If you never open your toys, you'll never be disappointed.

Just playin'. :D
