I hope so, bec. I just won one on eBay:

Looks to be very nice and almost complete, just missing two guns, according to the seller. I'm on a G1, brick-former kick lately, this looks pretty cool. Anyone have one? I'd like to hear your opinions please!

I love mine. It's probably my favorite G1 toy of all time, and I'm convinced it's the best trailer-base mode in the franchise, with it's windows scaled for the Nebulons when they're "inside" the tower and cannons they can sit on...well, straddle, at any rate.

Definitely superior to the first Optimus Prime toy and better executed, although I don't see why the little robot had to be such a brick compared to the first Optimus Prime toy. I don't consider "Powermaster Optimus Prime" to be Optimus Prime though - he's really God Ginrai and isn't the same character.

It is great!

in the box... :redface

Although I did play with it a lot when I was a kid.

I loved mine as a kid(no apex armor), and still think it's a cool toy, even though it is a complete brick. When the reissues came out I had to pick them up immediately.

I've lurked long enough. I shouldn't have made that trade oh so long ago, giving you that Prime for those VHS tapes. Sigh. Oh well, I just bought the re-issue Powermaster Prime to dry my tears with.

I left yours behind when I moved out here (it's in good hands, though) but eventually picked up the reissue with the Apex Armor, myself. The retractable fists on the trailer are so much better.

Good to know. I prefer mine in the box, anyway.

I prefer the original 84 prime myself.. but thats mostly because I'm a diaclone junky and I love those old ass bricks.

To be fair, 1984 Optimus Prime never merged with his trailer. And by G1 standards there was nothing terribly unusual about being a brick. What sucks more is how Super Mode Armada Optimus Prime is a brick, which by post-G2 standards is terrible.

I much prefer God Ginrai over Apex Armour Prime for two main reasons...

1) The over-sized chrome-stripped missile on AAOP is teh suxxors.

2) As Slaughtermaster said, the toy looks too much like Ginrai than it does Optimus Prime. PM Prime was one of my favourite G1 toys as a kid and Ginrai is just too different from the toy that I grew up with. When they reissued Ginrai I was initially hesitant in getting him because I still have my PM Prime, but I decided to get one anyway, mostly because I knew they were different characters and because I wanted Godbomber. And much to my pleasant surprise I discovered that the basic Super Ginrai toy was substantially different to PM Prime! So yeah, IMO they're distinctly different figures.

God Ginrai's missile

Ignoring God/Apexbomber, Super Ginrai and Powermaster Optimus Prime actually aren't the same toy and AAOP is not a reissue of PMOP - just a God Ginrai reissue that's been repackaged, rebadged and had its missile bastardised.

Some differences between the two toys include:

+ Ginrai's eyes (the non combined smaller robot) are blue whereas Prime's are red

+ Ginrai has a darker metallic grey and chromed upper legs. Optimus Prime sports flat greys.

+ The arms are entirely different moulds - and of course, Super Ginrai has retractable blue fists.

+ Iacon Ginrai has chrome, Hi-Q doesn't.

+ Ginrai's chest is made of die-cast metal with clear blue-tinted windows. PM Prime is entirely plastic and his windows are stickers.
