Powermaster Optimus Prime

Not that I don't understand how you would be like "WTF how is this cool". I look at Star Convoy and I think the same thing, but there are people here who totally love him. I'm like, "okay."

I also missed out on the first Optimus Prime. And that's one that I look at now and think "how does anyone think that's cool."

i finally got my prime at a yard sale when i was 12. miraculously he was complete minus hose. i got megs, soundwave, and sixshot too. biggest score ever. if only mom would have bought it all.

Yeah, I never had a Prime and Megatron as a kid, and always wanted them so bad. So that's part of why I loved PMOP so much, he was my first Prime. Since then I've been buying way too many of both of those figures, and will most likely continue to do so.

One of my neighbours had PM Prime when we were kids, so I suppose nostalgia plays a part in my high opinion of the toy.

FWIW: It was one of the few purchase my missus didn't :roll at me!

yea, pm prime was my OP. i found one complete and in great shape for $9 shipped on ebay and snapped it up, i was so happy XD

With G1 toys, its about the whole overall look of each mould. When you see GodGinrai on your shelf you have images of power, heroism, hope, a big beast of a robot with guns and jets. With modern toys we have a level of expectations that may not be realistic. Take MP-Optimus, people want a show accurate bot but want a IRL accurate vehicle which is impossible. Take PMOP and look at him as a semi-posable statue and he is fantastic!

I'm gonna chime in here since I never owned or played with it when I was young but I suddenly found myslef wanting it a few years ago. Which is odd for me... I'm a g1 kid and I have many G1's mostly for nostalgia. I can't stand toys that lack good posability. There has to be something there to make up for the lack thereof and in the case of this guy....It is indeed the overall look. It's the idea that he was the first 'Super' and that he turns into a base. The playability makes up for the lack of posability IMO. I still need to find guns for my PM Prime and I'm currently on the hunt for the reissue.

Yeah, playability is the only thing going for this toy.

i had the original as a kid and i played with it for ever even after i broke a wheel off and the plastic yellowed, when they reissued it i skipped it thinking i can aways get it another day, when i didn't see it anymore i felt a little gutted but then last year i seen the Japanese reissue i jumped on it and I'm happy i did
