The God Ginrai toy was also overproduced - which means that they're plentiful and cheap! :) I paid AU$80 for my reissue God Ginrai when it came out, but after it flooded the market I was seeing these suckers at import stores (which usually sell Japanese TFs at high prices due to import costs) at just AU$20 a pop! Damn!

 

IMO it's gooderer than Apex Armour Prime (which technically isn't a reissue).

Apex Armour Prime was never released here - the only Hasbro reissue never released here afaik. And quite frankly, I think it was a wise move on Hasbro Australia's part considering that God Ginrai was shelf warming at just $20 at import stores... AAOP would've just gathered a lot of dust and cobwebs on TRU shelves here.

Hey Hot Rod, I would appreciate it if you could quit saying that Apex Armor Optimus Prime was a reissue, because technically, it wasn't a reissue, as it had never been issued before with the armor, so once again...technically it wasn't a reissue, because there needs to be a first issue in order for there to be a reissue, which Apex Armor Optimus Prime clearly wasn't, as he had not been issued before in the US with the armor.

PM Prime is totally a reissue, but for some reason it came with all this extra ghey packaging that looked like it was made out of plastic or something.

That's a matter of your perspective. Factually speaking it's not a reissue of the Powermaster Optimus Prime toy, but a modified reissue of God Ginrai marketed as Apex Armour Optimus Prime.

Why you'd want a reissue of the version of the mold Hasbro ghetto'd the heck out of back in 1988 is beyond me. I thought they did a fantastic thing giving us the proper metal/chromed, with retracting arms version that we should have got in the first place.

 

That said, PM Prime, absolute brick though he is, is still one of my favorite incarnations of Prime. I dont regret buying 3* reissue versions a bit.

it's more nostalgia than anything else though. i do want a reissue genrai, but given the choice of having only one, i'd go for the pm prime.
