*lowers head and shakes it slowly*

(The hell with Pinion! I'll spell it like it sounds, the Chinese have no right to tell me how to spell their damn words in MY alphabet).

To be honest, Chinese is not an easy language to Romanise as it simply contains a lot of sounds which simply don't exist in European languages. And it's not as if the Wade-Giles system or Yale system is any better than the Pinyin system of Sino-Romanisation. What's more important is that they stick to a universal standard of Romanisation just to make things easier.

To Pinyin's credit, it is at least consistent in its assignment of letters to phonemes which is something which certainly cannot be said about the use of the Roman alphabet in the English language.

Is "Pinyin" spelled in Pinion? Sound like a mighty fine opinion.

Just the same, I'd rather sound like an idiot than conform.

=D

I'm not trying to 'convert' you.

I just think it's Blotty and pathetic you have to go the route of buying stolen property to save a buck.

AND you're totally cool with it,and support it -??? WTF ??

So how about this one then - WHAT GOES AROUND,COMES AROUND.

I agree with this aim when it comes to software products. I recently became a "sore thumb" when I refused to work with a pirated software product that my company decided to use. I've dealt with this type of thing before. As I got older I realised that companies need to be legit and I won't support any sort of action where they are not.

Secondly, I've also worked in the music business so I see that angle also. I understand how bootleg toys are bad for the companies that make the real product. The difference is this: Companies that are truly threatened by bootleg products will make the effort to educate their target audience (aka parents in the US) of such fakes. Takara has been known to do this in Japan for example. In the United States, there is a different take. IRL Retailers (aka physical stores) that are caught selling real and fake toys are levied with the threat that the legit company will refuse to sell to the retailer. This is what happened to Walmart a couple years ago shortly after the first wave of Alternators hit the shelves. Those who were buying back then may have noticed a sharp decline in new TFs that appeared on the shelves back then. Some may have also noticed that some Walmarts had no place for TFs on the shelves for a little while. Stores that purchase back stock from Warehouse invenrtories are not included in such practices, such as Big Lots for example.

Either way, the only time this becomes a problem is if the toy company, such as Habsro or Tomy feels that their sales are impacted by bootleg toys. In most cases they are not.
