Barricade was very evil in the movie. I hope he's alive.

Anyone read the novelization? I remember hearing he was dead.

The problem with that, and any movie novelization for that matter, is there's going to be a fair amount of discrepencies between the novel and what's actually on the screen. And the on screen stuff is the official stuff. Novels are made from not always completed screenplays. They usually have a draft that they turn into a novel that's pretty accurate to the film. Again, discrepencies are abundant.

Read SW Ep II novel. There's stuff in there that never even made it onto film, like this whole thing involving a recurring dream that Anakin keeps having. I don't remember if it's about his mother or if it was a Force induced dream involving a glimpse into the future or something.

Anyways, so yeah, the novel is nice, but I take it with a mild grain of salt due to the discrepencies.

In other words, there's a good chance that the draft that Foster got when he was asked to write the movie novelization, that the whole highway chase thing was altered later, and by that time it was too late to change the book which would have set back the release date. That same draft may also have been the source for the comic adaptation. In both versions, Jazz's spark is destroyed by Megatron. Not so in the film. In the movie, he's just ripped in two.

MMM's correct. Novels can be a fun way of looking at the movie's story a bit differently. It's not going to match up either because of added or changed scenes. Often times, novel writers will take liberties and do their own bits to liven up their story as they desire. I haven't read the TF novel nor the leaked/original (?) script, so I couldn't say where the book leans. But differences in a novel based on a movie are quite common.

Personally, I like Barricade. I'm hoping they left his fate alone in the movie because they decided to keep him, and we see him in the sequel.

I think He got lost, or stopped for donuts XD, seieously tho, I just couldn't get that past me, where in bloody hell is he?

It's a bit of a large hole in the plot when a character just vanishes. I hope he's alive too. I liked him alot. Maybe he saw the error of his ways and decided to leave the Decepticons for a life of fighting crime. Maybe he wanted to be the new Knightrider!

The truth is...

He had to leave because he was being sued by Ford for appearing in a movie where everything else is clearly a GM-owned property, and he couldn't miss his trial

Except that the particluar Mustang in the movie wasn't a Ford product but a Saleen.

My money's on his ass living. Just his ass though....he now turns into a Powerwheels Barbie car.

Ah, so that's why they could get away with not giving credit to Ford?

And hey, who knows...a PINK Barricade might frighten AND confuse everyone.

He fell into a plot hole. Landed in a somewhere in a Ewe Bole movie never to be seen again.

He was chillin at my crib.........*whispers* Somebody help. He won't leave. The cat's been missing for days now.
