Jazz's return

Sorry this discussion spilled back in here. I tried to give it its own thread.

It's ok PC. I have no problem that there were things that ruined the movie for you, although I thought that they had their place and only added to the story, but not everyone's going to agree on certain things about the movie, and some are going to like it, some aren't. And some are just going to absolutely love it. We all have our different opinions about the movie and will so again with the sequels when they're released.

I'm sorry your thread got locked.

I really liked it and I've seen it five times and am seeing it a sixth this week with my little bro who's coming back from Israel today. And then a seventh time with my grandparents who want to see it with me when they come in at the end of August.

Maybe both halves of Jazz could grow into new TFs.

See, Prime-Collector, here is where you totally loose me...

You complain about the characterization of the TF's, but you've said you didn't expect more TF Screentime. So what were you wanting/expecting? How come you got about the same amount of Screentime you expected, but you keep putting the movie down on the TF Characterization all the time? I just don't get what you wanted or expected with this. You say you didn't want more TF Screentime for the movie as much as some of your posts suggest, but you then berate the movie for lack of TF characterization.

I really don't get how you don't think the Autobots were all individuals either. They all had specific identities and lines meant directly for them, that only they could say. They each performed movements and actions that those characters would do. Despite this disagreement with you, I really want to know what you wanted/expected for the TF's and their Screentime. Since you've lost me with your posts on that subject.

They are two separate complaints.

I would have vastly preferred a movie that had had more TF screentime and characterization, but I didn't expect one.

My main complaint is the extra hour of useless movie around it. Sam and his storyline with the tfs would have been a good movie. That plus hackers, the dod, and soldiers with rifles that kill tfs not so much.

I went into this in some detail below.

Ok - then why all the snide remarks about the Autobots not having any character to them, if that's not your complaint actually?

Because it's not my ONLY complaint. The format problem is my Unforgivable complaint but it works in a symphony of catastrophe with my other more minor complaints.

The thing is though that all those story lines, while indedendent of each other, were all vital to the main plot, that being the search for the Allspark and stopping the Decepticons from recovering it and destroying humanity. It was all necessary for that plot. Fi you remove any of it, the entire movie falls apart because both the Soldier story arc and the Hacker story arc establish the Decepticon's plot to take over Earth and destroy humanity. The only other way to establish that is to show the Decepticons in their "hidden base" plotting, which would be really weak, and not very exciting. Here we see the Decpticons in action carrying out their plot and the military's and government's atttempts to discover their plot and actively working to find a way to thwart it. Which is more exciting? Which provides better visual story-telling potential?

Ummm...can I say something...

DROP IT ALREADY! We've been through this already in circles on end in many different threads thus essentially hijacking them. PC doesn't like a lot of things about the movie and that's that. Don't force opinions on one another. Feel free to express them. PC took a chance in expressing his opinion that the movie wasn't good for him, and he's entitled to said opinion. What I feel may be different, but that's fine. I'm not going to expect everyone to like the film, Transformer fan or not. So again, DROP IT!

Thanks for listening and lets get back on track on discussing why Jazz should or shouldn't return and how he may if he is confirmed to make a comeback.

Saw the film this pm, generally I love it, some bits i didn't like so much, but generaly I thought it was a good effort.

BUT WHY DID THEY KILL JAAAAAZ!!!

Very Upset indeed! I thought it was a bit unecissary. Jazz's death didn't seem to fullfill any plot need. Although it was a dramatic, brave death, it just seemed abit shallow. As though the writers thought at the eleventh hour, "oh wait, we should kill one of the Autobots". Just seemed a waste of character. I'd liked to have seen him teamed up with Prowl in the sequel, I think they'd be a good Kirk-Spock partnership.

I think he should come back. I can't remember who posted it, but someone said he was only ripped in half, wereas Frenzy was decapitated. I like the idea of useing the shard of Allspark to bring him back. Maybe Soundwave spies on this and uses the technique to revive Megatron (also sad he was destroyed, but then, Megatron can't die, can he?).

I would like Jazz to return but purrhhhleeeeaaaseee... No Gee-Wun colours!... :inhpoo
