So in this theory of yours, the "instructions" for producing an offspring also happen to be encoded in the form of genes?

In a nut shell? Yes, everything is encoded in the very building blocks that make up every Cybertronian, just like in a biological life form. Nanites are the analog to cells. The coding hardwired into those nanites are the analog to DNA, they are the basic building blocks of mechanical/techno-organic life. The only difference between us and transformers, aside from their size and ability to transform, is that they are made from metal and silicon instead of proteins and water. Everything else about them is the same. They love, they hate, they eat and breathe, they marry and form families, they grow and learn, They are born and they die. On the most fundamental level they are just like us. They are direct analogs to us. The only difference is the base elements and molecules that form their basic structure. Cybertron has an entire ecosystem with wildlife and everything. For example, According to his tech-spec bio, Mirage used to hunt turbofoxes, a wild animal native to Cybertron, for sport. Given the basis for Cybertronian life, That animal is obviously another mechanical life form, just nonsentient. It is a robotic animal life form analogous to an Earth fox. The analogies are there. Everything we have has a Cybertronian analog. From a story writing perspective, this helps the reader identify with the planet and its people by making it familiar enough to us while still being otherworldly. From an in universe perspective, it shows that life is consistant throughout the universe— A life is born, grows, struggles for survival, brings forth an new generation, and eventually dies. Every living thing has a niche in its ecosystem. Everything is connected and interdependent. That is the universal cycle of life. Whether that life is organic, crystaline, silicon based, mechanical, techno-organic, or anythinbg else, this same cycle is universal, and that is why the seven criteria for what is or is not life is also universal. It is bacause those criteria are also interrelated and assure the perpetuation of the cycle of life.

Simply put, life is life. No matter what planet it is from, no matter what it is made of, it is still life, and follows the same rules as any other form of life.

-Edit- Nevermind.

That doesn't matter at all. In fact, it's not relevant at all. See, Transformers, as described in that same argument you keep posting (And is fictional no less.) are not made of metal. In most cases transformers are built of animation cells and the ink on them. Animation cells do not reproduce. The are exceptions, some transformers are made of computerpixels. They also do not reproduce.

Night Viper.

It's hard to believe that people here can't even grasp what an in-continuity discussion is...

Transformers ARE fiction, but every fiction has a continuity. If you don't have the imagination to understand that, why preach to those that do?

That's the point - some people DON'T understand what they're talking about.

If there were any valid points being made here then I'd be more than happy to contribute. As it stands, this thread is full of drivel.

I have tons of imagination, but I also have a sense of realism. It's okay to discuss fiction, but this isn't a discussion. This is a 7-page second try at annoying everyone in to saying Tramp is right. Which he isn't, since he is claiming that every life form on every planet in every form can be put in to his nice little cubicle. A short while ago everyone agreed creatures cannot live without sunlight... And guess what? We can only judge life by what we know. There is no way of knowing now what can and cannot happen in 1000 years or at the other end of the galaxy.

And if you're claiming it's fiction, stop claiming it as the truth.

Tramp - stop backing up your lame-ass stupid arguments and rebuttals with pseudo-logic (mostly more Russell's Teapots).

I (and others) have repeatedly demanded that you construct a LOGICAL argument backed with actual real direct evidence. Not bullBlot, but EVIDENCE!!

Up till now, all of your arguments have sounded like THIS:

So learn to actually think logically, if not, kindly STFU. :)

...very good points.

But is Tramp willing to agree to disagree? *waits for a huge, rantlike response from him*

with every third word in bold :tflaugh
