Spark = life... but then again its cartoon logic isnt it?

Transformers are not life forms. They are children's toys, drawings and CGI models. i hate to be the one to break this but, Santa aint real either... What you're doing Tramp, is debating something with as much meaning as "Does Santa Claus have a magic bag or does he freeze time?"

Sharptooth, from an in universe perspective, Transformers are alive. They are living beings. This is strictly an in universe discussion. Please keep it within that realm.

Fair enough, but did you notice how the laws of physics in the Transformers' universe are distinctly different from the real universe so why should the laws that constitute life be the same? In the Transformers' universe the Transformers are life forms, but it doesn't say anywhere that life forms need to have sex to reproduce in the Transformers universe.

The only reference to any comparable form of reproduction I can find in the Transformers' universe is in the Generation 2 comics where the 2nd Generation Cybertronians reproduced in a manner similar to cell mitosis. No sex there.

edit: Oh Christ, seven pages!

Every time you reply in this thread, god kills a kitten. Two if you're aware of what you're doing.

Okay I finally found proof that tramp is right! I submit, that if the "wreckers" which is really no more than a fan fic, can be considered canon, than so can other fan fics by that criteria.

This came from a 2002 story titled; "Starscream Gets His End Away"

Submittal 1:

'Charmed.' Starscream, posing in the pilot's seat, looked positively lustful.

She sauntered over to him, ran a finger up his throat and under his chin, lifting it. He was handsome, perhaps a bit pretty. She gazed into his half-open eyes, then kissed him full-on.

Their arms snaked round in a mutual embrace and they were going at it hammer-and-tongs in twelve seconds flat. Eventually they fell out of the chair.

#2: JET ON JET ACTION
She continued to have a little jet-on-jet action with Starscream at least once a day, and everyone started to comment on how he'd been better to get along with of late. Megatron's seduction took a long time, he wasn't nearly as easy as Starscream, but she saw the moments as they came, and was successful.

Megatron was great.

#3 TEH GAY LUV:

Megatron was alone in his quarters when Starscream showed up, hanging off the doorframe. 'Oh, mighty Megatron! Miss me?' It was delivered with a trademark lopsided smile.

Megatron looked over at him impatiently. 'Have I ever missed you, Starscream?'

Starscream walked round behind him and ground up close, sliding his fingers down the length of Megatron's big, black, shiny fusion cannon.

'Ooo Megatron,' he grinned, 'What a big gun you have!'

So I submit that tramp has been right all along, and clearly we are all just jealous fan boys with our lives and wives and girlfriends who can't see the need to transformers to have sex and fans to dream about it late at night :( I'M SORRY TRAMP AND LAZERBLAST

Well, this should deal with some kittens.

I have links to some pics to go with that..... :ghey

These truthes were observed from life, period. Yes, all the life we have to observe currently is organic. That is besides the point. The same rules apply regardless of what the basis of that life is. If we were talking crystaline life, or silicon based life, or any other form of life, how do you identify if it is a life form? You need a specific set of criteria common to every possible form of life, not just carbon based organic life. You cannot determine if something is a life form without a specific set of criteria to measure it against. That criteria has to be the same for all forms of life whether that life be carbon based organic as on Earth, mechanical, techno-organic, silicon based, crystaline, whatever. We have to use the same criteria. That is why theoretical science, as wel as science fiction and fantasy creators use this same set of criteria. We need to. It is the only scientific measure we have. We canot measure a "soul", and sentience is not necessary to life either. That is why we cannot use either of them to determine of something is a life form or not. All we have is that which is common to all life forms, and that is the seven criteria listed early in this thread. That is our only measure.

Please listen to me. Read my post slowly if it will help you to understand it better.

Do we need a universal set of criteria? Absolutely.

Do we have a universal set of criteria? No.

Pretending that we do, or wishing that we do, doesn't make it so.

You are quoting a summary of an article that appeared in a science magazine as if it were gospel.

You are also forgetting that Transformers are inorganic, mechanical life forms.

I'm sorry that this makes your brain explode. But five-year-old children all over the country can understand this.

They're robots.

Irrefutable video proof! http://giza.livejournal.com/225003.html Man this is crazy, once you start digging, the evidence just piles up. TRANSFORMERS DO MAKE TEH SWEET LUVIN

I had to sensor this pic but it does answer the question about genitals :eek

post-2682-1182261142_thumb.jpg

the term "gender" often refers to purely social rather than biological differences. Some even view gender as a social construction rather than a biological phenomenon.

Now, usually I hate quoting from wikipedia as it has that nasty habit of being wrong from time to time..but in this case it's spot on, and I just happen to be a little pressed for time this morning. Maybe I'm just being Outback, maybe I'm being an a**hole. Maybe it's just my inner sociologist screaming inside of me (did i forget to mention that was my first major in college?), so if you would please Tramp...stop acting like you wrote a persuasive paper on what constitutes gender, sex, and reproduction. Now, if you would like me to Tramp, I would be more than happy to come back once you reply to me in bold, saying that I've yet again flubbed on the definition of gender and sex, to come back, pull out ALL of my sociology texts that I still have, and give you the verbatim definition of what gender is, and what sex is...shoot, i even have a BIOLOGY TEXTBOOK.

Now, that that's done...and I know what I'm doing...I feel sorry for those two kittens that God just struck down. I wonder if their shrieks of pain and horror sound anything like the screech of robot on robot sex done in the depths of Iacon.
