Which version of Prime is more to scale with the other autobot toys?

Recommended Posts

I don't know what people's issue with Leader Prime is anyway. I like him, he's really posable, and his cannon is pretty cool. The bells and whistles, meh. I just took out the batteries.

Anyway, the only one who's not in scale as much as the rest of the team is Ironhide.

Also, people complaining about the size of the Bumblebee toy being smaller than the Jazz toy. Yes, in vehicle mode, with the Solstice vs. the '76 Camaro. But how small/big is he compared to the '08 Camaro Concept?

Anyways, I got Leader Prime, not voyager Prime. I don't need three versions of Movie Prime or Movie Megatron. Nor do I want to for that matter. I got Leader Megatron a couple of days ago just to avoid the whole "ice" thing with Voyager Megs.

:tflaugh do you own leader prime? just curious.

No. I promised the wife just one of every character to start my Insane Spending Spree o' Movie Merchandise.

I'll probably pick him up eventually, though. And I imagine it's possible I'll eat my words when I do.

But the I did a lot of comparing before I decided which one to buy, and I believe Robovision to be the greater Prime from a representation of the movie model standpoint, so he won. I won't make a claim as to which is the better stand alone toy until I've had Leader Prime in hand.

I just recently got Robovision, and I love him, more so than leader. It just matches the movie model more, and is a bit more in scale than Leader.

Metallic finish ftw!

Sweet detail and massive proportions, along with not cheat transformation >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> shell former

Plus the coat tails are moveable.

As Hobbes and BerserkFuhrer have mentioned, as well as being more to scale with the others, particularly Ironhide and Bumblebee, The Voyager class Prime is actually closer in transformation than Leader class Prime. Both "cheat to a degree, but at least with the Voyager class model, the cockpit is an actual cockpit with seats and everything, the legs transform like the movie version (i.e. they form his back end and have the back wheels actually attached to the thighs not hanging off behind them) and the arms (sort of) make up the front end. If you look at the trailers and such, the semi cab's front end is what makes up his arms, not the sleeper section. The only part of the front end that becomes a part of the legs is the front wheels and fenders. All the rest of the nose is either part of the arms or torso. That matches up with the Voyager class Prime. Yes, it would have been better if the cockpit section could have actually become his chest, and the nose break apart to form his arms without any kibble, with the front fenders and wheels moving down to the ankles. However, that might simply have been too complex for a toy.

As far as Prime is concearned, we, as fans, are faced with choices. We surely have dealt with these so called choices in the past, but this time we are faced with a big choice. Will we be supersizing our Primes and what do we exactly hope to achieve in doing so? Well, my friends, fellow fans, trolls and haters, Hasbro has cooked up a thoughie! And I by no mean mean to imply anything childish, because we are all grown-ups and smart-assed here, the actual decision is though, as in though cookies. What will we do, what can we do? But most importantly; what must we do? Do-bee-do-bee-dah.

In the past, as I've already stated, we have been faced with choices regarding Optimus Prime. From as early as Generation 2 we have been facing several Primes released side by side in the toyshops. And being faster, stronger and smarter then the average child and their unsuspecting parent, we always have managed to beat them to the toy isle. Counting our funds and running off with whatever we fancy or our kapitalist, greedy gut told us to buy. If we had the funds, we would buy them all! Could be not, perhaps, teach ourselves self control? These are the teachings of Optimus Prime himself and our inner fanboys should be as one with these words, written down generation after generation and passed on from Prime to Prime and have become inseperable from the matrix and the wise, old teachings it contains. Yet we seem to be more on the offense, we are at heart more like the evil Megatron inside. We take the teachings of a wise and courageous leader and sodomize then to our own uses. We need our Primes and we will not rest untll we own what was ours to begin with! We want our Primes and we have wanted them since the first moment, the dawn of our self, the moment the holy scripture 'More then meets the eye' was broadcasted on our televisions. That document alone has inflamed us with the teachings of Optimus Prime and corrupted our very souls with the evils of the evil Megtron and his evil goals. Standing at our toy isles, holding a seven year ol boy at arms length, having placed our sweaty palm of his forehead, we ponder... Do I have enough money on me today? The eternal answer sounds in the back of our heads... Listen, for it speaks! It silently whispers: 'No, dude.' Another, darker and deeper, voice sounds... It loudly whispers; 'Take both, food and rent are overrated.' It is the voice of the nemesis, it is the voice of hunger, death and general bad stuff, it is darker and deeper then Nemesis Prime, it is Megatron! The evil overlord that has enchanted us with his maniacal and demonic thoughs since the holy document 'More then meets the eye'. And so we listen, we give in... Some of us are to weak and bend to the will of the dark one. The child under our hand manages to break free, we notice and make him pay under the influence of the dark voice. We kick him in the family jewels and prevent him from reaching our toys. We make him suffer as we would an Autobot. The few of us capable and strong enough to resist the call of doomy death keep the child at arms lenght and start to ponder... What do my funds exactly allow me to buy today? We are in luck, we can buy a leader class toy!

But then, at the cash register, a voice asks us a simple question... Isn't the voyager perhaps better? Sure there is kibble, but would we ever know for sure if we do not also own the Voyager? We hear another voice, it is the voice of team rocket, what do they say? They say: 'You gotta catch 'em all if you ever want to know for sure!'

:lol nice

Leader Class- Optimus Prime for the win!

I just recently got Robovision, and I love him, more so than leader. It just matches the movie model more, and is a bit more in scale than Leader.

Metallic finish ftw!

I'll prob. be buying Voyager Prime this weekend (Fathers' Day woo!). I hope I can still find him- anybody notice if he's still in stores?

I must say, tho, the metallic finish left me a little unimpressed, altho I should add that that's not why I'm buying it. It does look nicer than the gray plastic on Ldr OP, but I thought it would be shinier. I like shiny.

Accurate with the movie? Wait? There's a movie coming out? Does it have something to do with these toys? Meh, I probably won't even see it anyway. I only see movies if there's a lot of hype about em.

Robovision Prime is the superior Optimus. He resembles the movie model, has nice articulation, double-barrel guns, a metallic finish, is in scale with the other Autobots (sort of, but there will always be problems in this department), and is at a decent price point.
