Which version of Prime is more to scale with the other autobot toys?

Recommended Posts

Yeah. So that puts him around the same size as Prime, and the Voyager class Prime is more in scale with the other Autobots. Thus, a Voyager class Bonecrusher would also be closer in scale.

Why would he need to be large? The Solstice is smaller than the Camaro. From what I see just by looking at them, Jazz is comparable in scale to Bumblebee. Sure, it may not be dead accurate, but it is pretty close.

I said "largish deluxe" because 1:27 is a little small and 1:24 is a commonly accepted scale.

I am not so concerned with scale so much as the attention to detail in a $20 figure as opposed to a $9 figure. that was all.

Although now that i think about it -Prime being a Voyager doesnt seem to make sense - I thought he was almost Megatron's height.

No, I'm almost positive he is smaller. Megatron and Blackout were the biggest. I don't know their official heights, but I am pretty sure, Megatron was several feet taller than Prime. His alternate mode was certainly much larger.

I'm........ not sure that I agree about Voyager Prime being closer in scale to the other Autobots. I'll defer to trench on that, though -- he's worked out all the scale stuff.

Are we talking about robot modes or alt modes? Because that does make a difference. We shouldn't assume that the robot and alt modes are to scale with themselves on any given Transformer.

and FYI Megatron = 35 feet tall, Prime = 28 feet tall

I'm holding off buyin Deluxe Brawl to pick up the oh so much more awesome Leader class version. In my book Leader Prime wins in alt mode but Voyager wins in robot. And I STILL want a leader class bonecrusher with spring loaded head popping action.

The problem with Voyager Prime is that the rear portion of his truck needs to be about 2-3 inches longer. If you look at the Voyager from this side you'll see that the beginning of the rear fenders and the back of the sleeper overlap, which isn't correct. I'm guessing they had to shorten the rear portion so his legs would be the correct proportion to his torso in robot mode (it probably also helps him fit in the Voyager box better). Leader Prime has this problem, too - but not nearly to the same extent (the rear of his truck mode needs maybe to be an inch and a half longer).

Judging from the pics of the new 2009 Deluxe Bumblebee, I'd say a display of Leader Prime, Jazz, Ratchet, and 09 Bumblebee would look very close to being in scale with each other. Ironhide would be a tad too small, but not stick out too badly. If you have Voyager Prime, '76 Bumblebee and Ironhide match up well with him, but Jazz is too large, and Ratchet is as well.

'09 BB looks to be a smidge larger than Barricade - so I'm guessing he'll be in the 1:32-1:34 range, so probably a touch closer to being in scale with the Voyager Prime.

I picked up the 1:28 scale RC '09 BB from RadioShack, it's about the same size as Rachet (who's 1:30).

UPDATE: '09 BB is 1:34 scale
