Straight from USPS.com. It should be here in the morning. I'm so glad I ordered the unmodded version from ActionHQ.

Yes today is Apr-1, but I wouldn't joke about my Masterpiece Megatron like that. There we go, they can make it through customs without any issues at all, at least into the US.

There's hope for mine then. Excellent.

Ouch.

Curse you Amsterdam and your lack of restrictions!

My understanding is they'll be added by the Japanese distributor from which BBTS, etc. buy their shipments. If true, I'd say this is could be a bit concerning, if I were ordering an MP05 I'd feel better if Takara or BBTS/Joel were doing it and not some middleman.

From a report of Seibertron.com, Takara is supposed to be mounting the plugs on the MP Megatrons going to the US importers, and also working with Hasbro for a US release. Here is the link to the article itself.Seibertron.com JRS Cancels MP Megatron Pre-orders. This was origianlly reported by TFW boards member Dirgimus Prime. and included an e-mail which went as follows:

'Hello,

I'm sorry to say that I've cancelled your preorder for Masterpiece Megatron.

Below is a copy of what my vendor sent to me regarding recent news on the

figure:

"Hi Bill,

I am afraid the decision has been made that in order to comply with US Federal

Law all US-bound shipments of Megatron will have the plugs installed. Even

though he will be in robot mode, we have learned there will likely be pics of

him in gun mode on the box, which could cause problems at customs resulting

in a shipment being impounded if there is not a plug. Also, Takara has

apparently decided to do a "US safe" release through Hasbro. This could well

mean that they and/or Hasbro will alert US Customs to be on the lookout for

"counterfeit" merchandise.

So, sorry to say it, but all Megatrons to the US will get plugs. Boxes will not

be in "unopened" condition."

I think its better to cut my losses now and not even attempt to import the

figure due to the potential problems.

I'm sorry for any inconvenience this may cause you.

Regards,

Bill Egerstaffer

Maybe you're referring to a different post - but my interpretation of the attached email is that Takara is considering a US-safe release through Hasbro sometime in the future, not applying the plugs to this release, which is why the boxes will not come in "unopened condition" - which leads me to believe a third party is applying the plugs.

Mine's on its way to my home in MO (where I'm NOT - natch) from HK unmodified. I'll let you know if it gets there.
