Apparently the customs office in Australia is far more serious about this.

There's reports on TFW that MP Megatrons have already been confiscated.

At least 4 different individual cases of confiscation so far.

It's things like that that make me glad I didn't take a chance and spend the dough.

I'll wait it out and see what happens on both Hasbro and TakaraTomy's end.

Might get a special edition with the silencer and stock. (I'd gladly give up all the goofy Blot for that.)

Who knew that Australia would so hardcore about this?

Got an e-mail today from bbts in reply to my question as to when they would receive shipments. Jessica said that their shipments should be arriving in the next two weeks. So those of you that have them already just keep telling us how great they are and continue to make me jealous. Btw, that sucks about Australia. Who knew the Aussies were so strict about toy guns.

He has arrived!!! MP-05 Masterpiece Megatron is now in hand, unmoddified in San Diego, California. Shipped via EMS from Hong Kong on 3-30-07, delivered 4-2-07.

Sorry to hear about the Aussies. I know that they have incredibly harsh gun laws. I know that until just recently Paintball guns were illegal, siting that there was not a fundamentally different concept than a real firearm. How is it trying to get a re-issue Megatron down under? I would presume, that if MP-05 doesn't make it through, then there's no way the re-issues/vintage figures would make it through customs in gun mode?

That sucks. I thought Australia was just this big crazy wild west cowboy outback island with terrifying animals and a big red rock in the middle. Now I see it has a dark side as well.

I just saw on tfw where Pinoy78 has pics of his MP-05 with the orange cap. Who's to know if this is the cap used by all distributors but let's hope so. Here's the link for all to check out. If this is the case with all of them, those of us who ordered modded can breathe a sigh of relief knowing we won't be damaging our Megs. It won't be sealed minty fresh, but it's close enough!

Sweet! I can tell you now that our modded shipment of MP-05 will be the same as those in the pics. :)

Wow. All that over nothing.

:tflaugh I'm glad I didn't give sh*t about any of this to begin with.

Well, if worse comes to worse, the place I ordered through will just have to get this plug done and then he'll arrive and I'll pop it out.

ARGH MY EYES! TEH CENSORSHIPS!!!1

Weren't these things supposed to be glued in? That's like a foam earplug somebody jammed in the barrel.
