I totally understand what Goki is trying to do, and I think the people attacking him are just not "getting it." Somewhere, along the line, there has to be a system of measurement so that everyone knows what they are talking about. It's like everyone deciding to agree on how long a foot will be (at one time, that system of measurement was based on the size of the King's foot... so everytime you got a new monarch... well, you get it).

In this case, we're dealing with collection size. If we just asked "how big is your collection," there would be multiple different ways of collecting, and someone collecting one way might have 500 or counting another way might have 300.

However, there are some issues that have come up that (in my opinion) need to be looked at.

Item: Nebulons that are sold seperately: When collecting international transformers, in Japan there were several Nebulons that were sold seperately and belong to no particular robot. Some of these were even totally new molds (such as the heads that would turn into robots, etc.). Shouldn't these be counted?

Item 2: A person has a headmaster, but not the specific robot in his collection as well as a different "headless" robot. Are these not counted as they are incomplete? Are they counted as two different robots? Or do we count them as percentages? (1/2 + 1/2 = 1).

If we count by percentages, then this could get difficult as having a Metroplex who is missing one of his guns (making it part of Sixgun) makes him count as a 99/100 Transformer.

Considering the problems that occur with Items 1 & 2, I suggest that seperate characters, such as Nebulons be counted towards the final tally and the law denying them be revoked.

Item 3: International Transformers. What do you do with Transformers that were licenced to be sold as Transformers but were sold in other countries without the Hasbro/Takara logo? For example, does it still count if it says Gigi on it? What about the Brazilian Antex Transformers? They had full licence to be sold as Transformers (i.e., they are not legally Knock Offs) but they were built cheaply in the style of knock offs with odd color combinations and stickers that fall off).

Just a few thoughts... any ideas?

i think that using the system i've lost....

19 in KO gestaults

1 in RID Bruticus

2 in KO Nosecone and Afterburner

1 in HOC's

1 in Nebulans

6 in 3" Titanium's

i also forgot to count titanium soundwave's laserbeak as well as cyb soundwave's laserbeak

Are you talking about the recolor of G1 Bruticus, known as Ruination in RiD, or are you talking about the 3-headed dog thing? The first wouldn't count, but the second one does.

Ok, who clicked [/fun] on this thread about 70 posts ago?

the gestault. you count the 5 bots that make him up instead of counting the 5 bots + bruticus... it's the walmart exclusive btw, i don't remember which line it came from just that it was originally in RID.

I know what you're saying, and at the time the polls for determining this system was being held, we debated over this issue. Here and on other boards. But in the end, the majority voted for Nebulans to not count. So this means that a headless Headmaster does count. Sounds weird, but that's how it works (it's basically a technical loophole, but all systems have this - ask any RPGer :P)

If we count by percentages, then this could get difficult as having a Metroplex who is missing one of his guns (making it part of Sixgun) makes him count as a 99/100 Transformer.

Sixgun is a "peripheral" Transformer, who doesn't count. So having part, all or none of Sixgun doesn't effect the counting of Metroplex in any way, shape or form.

Considering the problems that occur with Items 1 & 2, I suggest that seperate characters, such as Nebulons be counted towards the final tally and the law denying them be revoked.

It is much too late to be revoking or modifying any of these rules. When the polls were being conducting during 2006 was the time for debating over these issues, and boy did we ever debate them. That window of opportunity has now passed.

They are still sold under licence from HasTak, so they still count. For example Korean Transformers are sold by Sonokong under licence from Takara. So they are legit and they count because Sonokong purchased the legal licence from Takara to do so.

KOs are not sold under licence regardless of which company makes them.

Animorphs?

doubles or not still > 100

so i just drug the rest of mine out to count and i got a total of 163 using the system. personal count is 189
