we're all going to have issues with at least one of these articles - even I have issues with some of these articles (e.g.: I personally don't think that multiples should count). But at the end of the day, we can never create a common system that everybody would 100% agree to because a lot of this classification of what counts and doesn't count is highly based on subjective opinions rather than facts. Actually, the only Article that's based on a fact is Article01: that only toys manufactured under licence from Hasbro or Takara count as Transformers. That was never put to a poll as it is a legal fact that could be demonstrated in a court of law. Everything else is based on opinions and was decided on in an extensive series of polls conducted on several TF forums.

So each of these articles represents what the majority of voters decided was the most suitable way of counting Transformers.

People will always have their own preferred way of counting Transformers - and in your personal count, you can count your Transformers however you want to. You want to count Overload and Rollout as one Transformer? Go for it. But when it comes to participating in the survey, they need to count as one Transformer.

If you want to compare your collection size with other people's you need to need to make sure that you're all following the same rules to make your comparison fair. For example let's say that you and I only owned Overload and Rollout and nothing else. You decide to count them as one Transformer and I decide to count them as two. Even though we own the exact same toy(s) my collection count is already 200% larger than yours! This is obviously a horribly unfair comparison. So it doesn't really matter if they count as one or two, what matters is that we agree to one method of counting so that our comparison becomes fair.

I'm just over a hundred, but that rounding sucked me back down a few for voting.

I love the rules. Here's a question for no other purpose than curious about the answer:

So, Superion Maximus is made of 5 bots, so since they all come individually, they'd be 5 in the count.

BUT, what if you bought the japanese Superion Maximus giftset, where they were all packaged together, as Superion Maximus? On the show, the parts were not sentient (pretty sure) and only Superion Maximus was. Kinda like Tidal Wave with Dark Fleet. So, if you have that version, is that 1 or still 5?

if the limbs didn't have a robot mode then yes, 1 but since they all can be one independant transformer they are 5

sluggie is right. :)

The individual boats in the Dark Fleet (a fleet of three!) don't count individually because they count as "multi-in-1 components" which is covered in Article05.

* ARTICLE 05: Individual combiner robots count individually but multi-in-1 components do not. e.g.:

- A complete Constructor Squad = 6 Transformers

- Battletrap = 1 Transformer (not 2)

- Magmatron = 1 Transformer (not 3) -- in total these all count as 8 Transformers.

Superion (Maximus) counts as 5 regardless of whether you got the robots separately or in the giftset because Article19 states...

* ARTICLE 19: Loose and sealed Transformers are counted in the same way.

e.g.: A Micromaster Combiner Squad counts as 6 Transformers regardless of being sealed or loose

This rationale basically works on the premise that Transformers are all counted the same way regardless of how they're packaged - so yeah, the Aerialbots would count as 5 Transformers regardless of how you got them. :)

"Officially" I have 77.

By my own count I have 82.

The difference comes in the five Macross figures I have standing in as generic Autobot security drones.

I havent been here in a while but this thread brings me back to post my thoughts and Q's.

Only got through the first 2 pages or so (so far).

A bit mad cause metroplex's other parts dont count sep. but hey for all those that voted... i guess they think they dont. (i wasnt around for them i guess .....)

So Goki Q the mini RiD cars do they count. and does the scourge 2 pack with x brawn count as 2 diff. if you have the deluxe v.

Im guessing E Opti. is one since his arms and legs dont conform to the articles...

And to my knowledge only one thing has a slight paint diff. in the Armada pack that has jetfire and optimus with like 5 mini cons..

These are just off the top of my head...

I give you ALOT of credit for taking your time (which you could have spent doing something else) to try and make a universal what counts as TF or doesnt....

Also i assume the Robot Heroes DONT count since they dont transform, but they do have the my favorite company ever name..

The Spychangers? Yes, they count individually.

Yes. Transformers count the same regardless of being packaged together or separately as outlined in the rationale of Article19.

Those vehicles are drones, which don't count according to Article06.

...umm... I'm not entirely sure what you meant there... (O_o)

Jetfire, Optimus and all 5 of those Mini-Cons would count individually.

Multiples and variants all count separately too (which I personally don't agree with, but again, it's what the majority voted for)

Thank you! :D

Robot Heroes fall under the category of PVC figurines etc., which don't count according to Article07. :)

so bearbrick and revolvtech count but not heroes... how is that justified?

I hear ya Goki i never counted my doubles.. only time i did if it had a slight diff... Like Armada deluxe prime i didnt count his mini con just him or C Deluxe prime cause ive got the mistake arm the one with the symbol and w/o...

And i have the Armada stuff tht has the mini cons as an extra and if i had the actual 3 pack i didnt count them....

So other than maybe a few like METRO !!!!! bah i count him as 4 :D i think your deff. is either

A) Right on track with a little work.

B) A good point for these other transfan to stop complaining and make one that works better :D

Not counting stuff im trying to sell...

i have around 809 give or take a few...

If sideways and the 2 mini bots that form his head are counted as 2 and not 3.

G2 Dreadwing is counted as 2.

C soundawave and his con is 2.

U Dreadwind and smokejumper is counted as 2.

What about E OS his head is sep. aint it ? i count him as 1 even thou.
