so bearbrick and revolvtech count but not heroes... how is that justified?

Because that's what people voted for. :P fwiw I agree with you. ;)

I officially own zero now. I'm all-PVC.

So you are an admin on a Transformer collector's message board that DOESN'T collect Transformers?

(scratches head in puzzlement...) :tfhuh

At last count, using these rules, I've hit around 900 Transformers.

Only according to the universal counting method. He may not collect Transformers action figures, but he does collect Transformers merchandise of some form - whether you want to count PVCs as TF toys is entirely subjective.

And you don't have to be a collector to be a Transformer fan. There are fans out there who don't collect - like the admin of the Lexicon - she used to be a collector then a few years ago decided to stop collecting... I think she sold off all of her collection bar one BotCon exclusive toy and last I heard she's no longer collecting - but she still maintains the Lexicon so she's obviously still a fan who's actively involved in the TF fanfic scene.

I read all them rules and whatever...

Has/Tak figures, I'm well into the thousands(yes plural)

General Mecha, and other assorted toys, well if you wanna count them, go ahead...

I've been buying toys for the past 15yrs, and tend not to throw things away, either way my totals are up there.

I recently broke the century mark, but I would have more. I have a habit of selling off/trading off lines and figures I get bored with or don't like. I had a ton of BW up through BM and sold them, and I also got rid of a near complete Armada line.

Have any of you guys ever purged your shelves? If so, what makes you decide to give 'em the boot?

I've thought of it but can't bring myself to do it.

In the past I've had 4 toy collections. The first was a small one I had as a little kid and was taken in a house fire(still have 1 piece from it a non working Gobot Zod). The second I had from that fire through my early teens and gave away to my best friends brothers. I regretted that and reclaimed a couple pieces as the collection was being destroyed. The third I started rebuilding as a larf and gave it to my nephews one year when my brother couldn't afford Christmas. Once again I regretted it, even though it was a good thing to do.

That brings us to my current collection. When I realized it was starting to take shape, I decided this time I'd keep it reguardless of whatever. It started off random, but later became specailized mainly focusing on Transformers. If I buy a figure now, I keep it, even if I don't like it. I know I'll regret giving it up if I do. Lately, I've been contemplating selling my Alts as they don't fit in with the rest of my figures, but still, I think I'd rather just get a larger glass case and display them with MP Prime like I use to.

Then I'd be happy with them again, sometimes you have to give the guys a new life!

Every so often though I do sell a figure though, and thats usualy because somehow I've come across to many of a mold, thats about the only reason why I sell.

I have over 200 Transformers
