Movie Megatron?

whats an ent?

All the movie designs we've seen so far, and Megatron is no exception, are really giving me a feeling of fragility.

I mean, these are machines of war. They have to be able to take a hit: both from gun/cannon fire and from hand-to-hand combat. If you look at our machines of war they are almost all solid on the outside. They don't have gaps in them and you can't see the interior, because if there are gaps then gun/cannon fire becomes more damaging because they can take a hold (this was for example the case with WW-1 German helmets which had a little protruding part on the front and as a result bullets managed to kill soldiers wearing them because a bullet that struck there didn't deflect: a good helmet or armor, is a smooth one). Also, if you can see the innard of a warmachine, then it's more fragile.

All TF's we've had over the years have given us robots with a sturdy look. Solid pieces that can believably take a hit. (Wraithverge even comments in the Idiots Guide to Kitbashing about details, that when painting/kitbashing you should be a bit sparse with details like wires and such, because when you're in a war you don't want fragile parts showing: you have armor around that.)

And now we have the movie TF's. Big mean-looking machines of war. But if I look at them, I don't feel any of them really can take a hit in robot mode.

And it's not just the inner parts showing. It's obvivous that transformation (or even a battle face/mask like Megatron has), includes small parts moving and fitting very precisely. Small moving parts are always fragile; so I seriously doubt that transforming will work with these after they've taken a hit.

I DON'T LIKE IT.

i thought these guys were going to be recognizable. i have no idea who this is. why, why, why! i know these are alien beings but at the very least we should be able to tell who they are. prime is the only one who's face looks similar to the any version of optimus prime.

Ok, I did a quick MS-Paint, do you guys think that a compromise between alien and war machine would have been better?

Sorry about the quality....MS-Paint y'know.

while i realy honestly would LOVE to agree with you on so many levels right now because i think tfs need some damn kibble... these guys are highlly evolved robots that are MILLIONS of years old, i'm sure they've gotten WAY more technologicly advanced than anything we can even imagine...

i beleive the script said that the middles used to kill them burned at something like 600k degrees. also after they're blown apart they reform t-1000 style.

IE: Treebeard from LOTR

That's all assuming that they're made out of substances we're familiar with.

Alien robots/Alien technology/Alien Materials = Maybe they can take a hit.

Besides, no matter how blocky the design, no kibble from any car built in the last 30 years is going to be any useful kind of armor anyway. Try firing a tank cannon at the body of '07 Camaro and see how well it holds up.

:eek2 This...is...so....cooooool!

Wy can everyone be okay with every other strange iteration of Megatron, but not this? I just don't understand it. This guy looks like he could totally screw some stuff up. :clap

I WISH I could take you up on that challenge....just so I could blow Blot up.
