Is Optimus Prime a bully?

Recommended Posts

How come no one ever thought to shoot the other when he calls for the cyberkey? I would. "Hey, my opponent is calling for something that will give him an edge, I'd better shoot him before he gets powered up." So while he's standing there making quasi-impressive moves, just shoot him. When the cyberkey finally arrives it will be too late.

(Bushido)But that wouldn't be honorable!(/Bushido)

Ferengi rules of acquisition number (I don't know) "Let others keep their honor, you keep their profit", and "Dignity and an empty sack, is worth the empty sack"

Or in other words: who cares about honor in a war?! Okay, the good guys do, so they won't attack at that time and will loose. The bad guys should have no compulsion whatsoever.

transformers is a toy line.

you want to sell prime toy ? it have a super mode ? so show it in the cartoon.

You would have an excellent point, if the buyer had a choice between getting Prime with or without a trailer. In that case, showing him combining with his trailer would be very smart from the marketing point of view, because everyone would want the combiner version. But we don't have that choice. We have to buy the supermode trailer, so it doesn't really matter whether or not Prime uses his supermode on the show.

(Of course, this argument doesn't work for combining with other TF's.)

Or in other words: who cares about honor in a war?!

(Bushido) But without honor, a war will quickly downgrade into brutual savagery! (/Bushido)

There is also a saying by A. E. Housman:

"How dead we lie because we chose not to shame the soil from which we sprung."

Honor in battle is a very noble ideology but sadly not always possible. I mean if you want to achieve victory in a war then you must at times put aside your feelings. War is savage and war is bloody.

During World War 2, the allies bombed the Germans resulting in terrible cost of life. But if the allies were to win the war, the German factories had to be destroyed and production delayed. Not to mention the demoralizing of the population.

Of course it is hardly honorable to bomb civilians. It is quite immoral but at times it is also nessecary.

In fact, Winston Churchill even asked his generals about the ramafications if he were to use poisonous gas on German cities. The plan was never consideres as the generals were violently opposed but part of me can understand Churchill.

I am an avid Civilization player and while playing Civilization 3 (do not own 4 as it would probably not run on my pc) I find it easier to destroy an enemy nation than to try and conquer and control it.

Sure it is wasteful and "evil" but it is easier than having to deal with civilians who are not too happy with my rule.

Do not get me wrong, I think honor is a very important thing and I really like the Klingons because honor is what they are all about but at times there is no place for honor in a brutal conflict.

At times one must put aside honor and one's ideals if you want to win a war.

super mode is cool than before meger.

A/E/C are all must be super mode and fight to mega.

on the other hand, it can give you deep impression, and ask you to buy toys

Seriously guys.. go out and get a breathe of fresh air.

At times one must put aside honor and one's ideals if you want to win a war.

you know, that's why the japanese like Gundam so much: if the war is fought using only a few dozen soldiers who are piloting giant mecha instead of millions of faceless grunts, it makes it easier for the individual soldiers to achieve personal honor and glory while also achieving the same geopolitical resaults, ergo, allowing the japanese to reconcile their ancient Bushido code with modern hi-tech warfare.

"Ergo"?  Somebody thinks quoting a word made popular by a certain sci-fi movie, yet otherwise never used in contemporary North American speech, makes them sound smarter.
