In that case my world lo longer makes sense.  ...Yeah I know its just a toy. I am refering to the Toy Franchise if its connected or resembling to the g1 story or using g1 story elements and names.

 

Now having said that, one of my favorite TF lines is the euro G1 Turbomasters and Predators line. No megatron or Prime. But their leaders Skyquake and Thunderclash filled their shues prity good.

If you leave out Prime, you have to leave out every other known character like hotshot,brawn... .Everything has to be new. I would not be oposed to that, but the moment you have a known name/concept in the midst, it needs a Prime or a Megatron.

And thats why I think Prime is not pointless. At least not with every seen TF story line.

Ok, I give you that. I just think that Optimus Prime, bully or not, is WAYYYYY overrated.

Generaly overated, sure. Then again, so are most pop culture leading Characters. Darth Vader, Frodo and Harry Potter come to mind.

 

I wouldn't mind if Megatron or Rodimus Prime would get some more publicity in Toy Lines. The best G1 Megatron untill now is still the g1 original toy. Thats just said. A Masterpiece ot Robot masters version that would show a gun mode would be sweet. Its not like they will sell it in US stores anyways, so no worries about gun laws.

As far as i can tell of Optimus Prime/Galaxy Convoy. Over the years he has been made differentier within each show. This one i liked TF:C i liked him and how he was made, and yes he can sometimes be a little bully to some of the smaller guys of the show. Though i wish like i had said eariler that he had used his own power more in the show then other people's. I really wished that happened.

 

Also! Wouldn't it be nice if Starscream and Megatron actually combined in the show for once in a lifetime? that would be so KOOL! :thumb

Then Megatron would get to play with Starscream's nice Vortex Cannon. Watch everything go KABOOM! :eplus

And isn't that really what war is? No matter how noble the ideals and the cause for fighting, in the end grandscale battles quickly degenerate into brutal savagery on the personal level. Can't recall how exactly the quote went or where I got it from, but it has been said that war brings out the worst of man.

i agree that war is pointless (if we're talking of real life war), but if you're forced into war, you should retain your honour. look at dinobot, he was a predacon with honor and he joined the maximals.

Though I would never be one to consider Prim as a bully I do see where this is coming from. I thought and addressed the exact same thing is seperate on going thread.

 

I see the comic relief aspect but as somebody already said what was done in Galaxy Force was way too over the top. With the only time being in the tunnel Casket, and Armbullet did absolutely nothing to instigate Prime. Maybe with time as tight as it was and no time left to deal with things rationally Prime decided enough was enough.

 

Another thought that occured to me is that Prime obviously didn't really intend to kill anybody no matter how devastating his assault. Throughout the entire series Gasket, Rasack, Thundercracker, and Chromia (when she appears) are repeatedly blown away in one assault or another but never really suffer any outstanding damage no matter how severe the attack. Realistically I'd chalk this up to GF just being a cartoon but the same could be said for Beastwars. Waspinator, Terrosaur, and Infernal were constantly being blown to bits by Primal and the Maximals and though damage is substancial they never really die because it's all part of the comic timing of it being a cartoon.

 

FWIW though in the very end of Armada Prime was able to battle Galvatron in the final fight without his supermode.  :thumb

 

As for Bullys, Master Megatron/Galvatron was as sadistic and mean as any bully can be. With alll the power he has he ruthlessly eradicates Excellion, Backpack, and First Aid with the full intent of killing them and almost succeds.

Also in the end when he's lost and theres no hope of winning he in a last deperate attempt attempts to crash Animatros into Cybertron. Quite honestly I can see G1 Megatron/Galvatron doing the same thing. Afterburners tend to think alike after all.

I was watching the episode "ICE" yesterday and Prime was just teaching those dummies a lesson. Just like when your kid insists on being bad. First you talk to them, then when they keep on going...........Then you put a hand to that ass!

I agree with Loki , Megs & Galvy were much more sadistic than Prime will ever be.    Wow, this was my first post on any forum ever!  : :tflaugh
