Planet keys annoying

Recommended Posts

Oddly, I'd rather have powerlinx hardpoints than the dreaded cyber key block. Something about the gimmicky chunk of plastic irks me. Not a huge fan of Armada either, but I'd rather have Team Vanguard and Vector Prime minus their keys as the lesser of 2 evils. The bot mode aesthetics aren't ruined.

And they're gettin lazy with the gun turning into another gun thing.  :tfsad

It't not so bad! It turns into a BIGGER gun thing!

Seriously, I was thinking about the plausibility of the planet keys unlocking special abilities.

The TFs are robots, and therefore require power. It could be that the power they contain will supply all of their natural abilities for a given time period, but any further drain on their systems will result in a shutdown.

The Planet Keys could provide power only to the special abilities(explaining why it's just one special ability, and not several), which allows the TF to use it's additional weaponry without endangering it's power supply in battle.

The same theory could apply to the minicons and the special abilities they unlocked.

Hasbro isn't butchering anything. GF is different from Cybertron, and Cybertron is different from GF. You say it like Hasbro didn't have anything to do with the making of their own show. Remember, Takara and Hasbro are working together.

Anyway, it's logical that a weapon that's inactive in a TF's body because of lack of sufficient power would be unknown to the TF. the Cyber Key/Force Chip most likely provides that power/energy, as well as "unlocking" it. If ya think about it, they're kinda like Minicons :tflaugh1

They are using the exact same animation, its the same show but when they dub for english they are changing the dialouge and storyline.  And yes I realize that Hasbro and Tomy/Takara work together to make the TFtoys and Shows.  To say the two cartoons are different is insane.  One is simply a edited version of the other to change small parts to fit a story concept that was never intended with the original and thus to cut out contradicting information they also have to edit out plot points that leave gaping holes in the finished product.  Cybertron is a hatchet job.  Not to say I don't enjoy joy watching it on occasion, and I'm happy to see a Tf show on TV as always.  But Galaxy Force is better show in MHO.

What on earth makes you think that the 'edits' weren't planned before the show was even MADE? You don't. I realize what you're saying is the case for normal dubbed anime, but not GF/Cybertron. HFIL, GF don't even explain everything, like Megatron's Unicron armor... which Cybertron DOES explain. Maybe you should at least try to see it that way.

I really miss the minicon idea personally. I don't know how it happened, but I've really grown to like those little punks... it's kind of sad that they've being excluded as of late.

Actually in GF its not Unicron armor so there isn't a need to explain it.  Unicron doesn't exist as far as Galaxy Force is conserned thus far in the series.  I will agree that Cybertron may fill some plot holes, but it makes far more of its own because of the way it was cut.  That and the fact that some characters have been changed dramatically such as Nitro Convoy's sex change.  But over all its teh writing in Cybertron that annoys me, the dialouge.  such as in the Cybertron version of Episode three where Coby makes several comments that basically show the Transformers as giant but not very bright robots.

Overall I think Galaxy Force is better written, and That the majority of the edits made to the story for Cybertron were unneccesary and flawed in there implementation.  The series works fine with out a tie into Energon, They could have straight dubbed Galaxy Force and it would have easier since they wouldn't have had to rewrite the show.  But no point in arguing it.  In my opinion Galaxy Force is a better show.  But to each there own.

I wanted the show to be more like Raiders of the Lost Ark, where they have  to explore plantest and seek the keys out (heck steal a page from Dragon Ball).

Is there like a robot guy with this big key chain holding all these cyber keys?

Should we have a robot key chain?  That wakes up in the end and steals all the keys back?

Its like take a page from HEMAN and raise your hand to the sky and yell "BY THE POWER OF PRIMUS!!!!  I HAVE THE KEYS AND I AM DRIVING!!!!"  And little bumble bee is like "NO PRIME YOUR DRUNK!"  -SMACK- "SHAD UP!"

:rofl

i dont think ill ever forget "NO PRIME YOUR DRUNK!" brilliant.
