  1. I scored big time at the OTHER Walmart in town. This time, I picked up Crosswise, Brimstone, and Thunderblast. Crosswise: I originally thought he looked pretty goofy, but he's got an extremely beefy look to him. Definitely not a wimp, this one. I like the green, and the car mode is unique without being overly alien in nature. A really sweet piece. Except for the Mickey Mouse look, a very cool figure. Brimstone: This guy screams "Terrorsaur" at me. If he was red, he'd definitely qualify for the name. If I manage to pick up a second, there's a repaint going to happen. His arms/feet are a little weird, but it'd be awesome to see those giant claws rend a TF from top right to left bottom. Thunderblast: As Shell-Formers go, she's not bad. She's got an interesting transformation scheme, and being a fem-bot has already earned her a permanent place in my collection, right beside Energon Arcee. Her gun is sweet, and I really like her boat mode. She's definitely something you should consider picking up if you were on the fence. Not the greatest, but who doesn't like a chick with an enormous gun? I also grabbed LOC Starscream and two movies, The Core and Johnny Mneumonic. All in all, I spent a LOT of money. :( But I'm very happy, and I have four new bots to add to the collection! :thumb
  2. Whew! It's been a great week for this TransFan! From the Cybertron line, I picked up Evac. From the Alternators line, I picked up Battle Ravage. In the Alternators, that means I'm missing Tracks, and that's IT! Well, then there's the new releases, but I haven't seen hide nor hair of them yet. I also picked up some GoBots as Christmas presents for my little second cousin. He's only one, but demonstrates a remarkable intelligence for his age. I figure he can handle something that's rated for three and up. I was ecstatic to pick up Evac though. I've been looking for him ever since I heard of him, and he's everything I expected and more! He really does look like a Megaman character, and that's a good thing in my book!
  3. For 300 dollars? I wouldn't care if God himself painstakingly painted each and every little crevasse to be movie accurate, I'm not laying down 300 dollars for a statue. It's not going to happen. And the guy has molds, how much work are we really talking about here? You can't charge people 300 bucks for paint aps.
  4. Nope, sorry. $100, maybe. $150, hells no. There's no way I'd be willing to spend that much money on a figure, sight unseen, that doesn't do anything but sit there. 20th OP was over 70 when I was able to pick him up. He's bigger, heavier, and he does a hell of a lot more. Sure, he's got a massive company backing him, but we're talking about pre-made molds here. How much work really has to go into that? How much is sculpy really? If you can't justify the cost, I'm not spending my money. In this case, I'm not spending my money anyway.
  5. Hey, I was wondering if you could help me out with something. I have an idea for a Soundwave made from a portable CD player. I have most of his trasnformation worked out in my head and the parts I'm going to use, including having the circular piece that holds the CD were his abs are. What I wanted to include in that was a CD that transforms into Lazerbeak. For Soundwave, I don't see any problems. I'll just cut up a CD player, use the appropriate parts from other transformers, do some gluing, some painting, and he's done. But with Lazerbeak, I'm going to have to build the whole thing from scratch, down to cutting out the pieces I'll need. See, I plan on layering him with three sheets, one with the joints, and the other two sandwiching the joint sheet. I already have Lazerbeak's transformation worked out, but no clue how to go about it. See, I don't know how to go about making the joints. They're all hinge joints, and I don't know how to make that on my own. Worse, they have to be thin, since I'm going for accuracy where size is concerned(can't have the CD too thick). Have you got any ideas, or tips, suggestions, or anything else you could offer me?
