None taken and point taken. Like I said, this has dragged on for a page or so about something entirely other than the movie. So, back on subject...

What NEW additions to the mythos do you think WOULD work on the big screen? Don's certainly interested to know what sort of stuff the fans want to see, he's said so often enough. We've discussed it plenty over at donmurphy.net but a fresh perspective is always interesting.

I dont really know, I think this movie is a great opportunity to tell the "Autobot Protoctors of Mankind" story. the cartoons have done this so badly because they always used lame characters, but lets face it, the BEST Human on the planet would be a smudge under Megatrons Foot, so we dont have to be characterized as morons (or Lois Lane's -- same thing). As I stated somewhere else on this board, I am sure that EVERY autobot isnt going to want to save the meatbags, but I would love to here the Optimus Prime Soliliquoy explaining why it is the autobot's duty to do so.

Plus I wanna see sh!t blow up!!!

It may be just me, but I liked the original idea behind the G1 cartoon.

Cybertron, a dying world.

Two seperate factions fighting over what remains.

Quest for a new source of life-giving energy. (Cause without energon, they would all cease to function.)

A new world rich with energy found (Earth)

Inhabitants of Earth need sources for their own survival (imagine the change if suddenly we had no fossel fuels)

War between huge mechas ensues on Earth with humans in the middle of it.

I don't know about anyone else, but a battle on my doorstep between huge robot armies would be some scary sh*t. To me, this idea would hit home with most people as it's realistic.

I love you Wikkid, but that is not realistic... but I still like it

Explain.

My point is it's more "real" than any other idea out there.

If you can prove there's no such thing as ghosts, then I'll believe it. If you can prove that the limits of the human brain are endless, then I'll accept that. AND if someone can "prove" without a reasonable doubt that there's no other life in the universe other than man, then it's possible.

Well we know Cybertron will feature but it seems most of the action will be set on Earth.

Given John's comments about "Decepticons think humans are... squishy", it looks like we can certainly expect to see exactly what effect a massive war erupting will have on humans an no doubt the Autobots will be working to protect against too much...er..squishing.

There's also been talk about a fairly large human element, the Wickwickys, Spike's would be girlfriend, cool soldier types and interfering scientists, so certainly the in for the film seems to be setting up the war from the human perspective.

The TFs are certainly seen as characters but there needs to be an IN, and since humans will be involved there I think we can expect to see a fair bit of focus from the human perspective exactly what the difference is between Autobot and Decepticon.

I actually like that idea. The plot would be much deeper that way. It'd be better than "giant robots fighting for good and evil."

the fighting the always with the fighting

WOW! BTW Welcome to TFans Angel and Grimbot!

I am also wondering what will be done in regards to violence. What is going to stop Decepticons from blasting people in cars or stomping on people.....a PG-13 rating?

So in agreement with Smithsquared...I wanna see some sh!t bow up too!

Can you guys please not talk about that in this thread? Go to GD and make a topic on it there. This thread is about the Movie, not about proving that ghosts are real. Unless of course, you're talking about a TF ghost in the movie. My apologies if that is the case.
