how can you honestly say that one company has a better product if you've never held both in your hands? explain it to me bg  i wanna know, seeing a picture is much different from having the toy!

u are so happy atl tracks is blue eh? i remember when tracks just was just announced you said i hate how people hate it because it's yellow, well look at you now.

have you read my other post on how hasbro sucks for quebecers, go read that then talk to me. live here for a while that'll change your mind, i'm sure.

the only reason hasbro does anything right is because winny little fanboys sit at their comps writing to hasbro you didn't do it right now fix it! you people can never be happpy with what you got.

what was wrong with landfill, what?

you always compair present lines lets compair the past. after what hasbro did to the carrobots line i don't think i can ever respect them, that is when i lost respect for them and they just can't win me back no matter what they do. besides i find it embarrising to walk into a store and buy a toy.

Where did this come from? YOU were the one pissing on another fan, and degrading to a fairly low and weak argument in doing so. BG was pointing out that you don't need to import everything to come to a conclusion, it doesn't take a genius to factor the pros and cons of importing compared to buying domesitcally and whether one should do it.

As far as this big post:

True having a toy is different than a picture, but coming to conclusions without having the product has already occured on this thread. Some people can't afford to import stuff so pictures are all we have.

What are you trying to say about Tracks? He pointed out that Hasbro chose (for whatever reason) to make their product blue (which a whole load of people were Starscreaming for to begin with), while Takara has stayed with the yellow colors. He, like me, got extremely irritated when so many were complaining about a situation that could not be changed. I for one, don't give a flying f*ck what color he is, a good toy is a good toy.

You want to Starscream about Hasbro for Quebecers? Try talking to some UK fans, I'm sure that will change your mind.

Hasbro has no reason to listen to the fans, and I don't know where you get the idea that a few TF fans are somehow changing Hasbro's policies by sending emails. Hasbro has CHOSEN to listen to the fans and balance what the MAJORITY would prefer with the needs of marketing the line towards kids (where the money is made).

Where did Landfill enter the equation?

What did Hasbro do to Car Robots that pissed you off? With the exceptions of Scourge (who became a TRU exclusive) and Brave Max (which could not be released due to safety laws), everything came out for the line that was available in Japan (in comparable quality) and Hasbro even produced a handful of extra releases for the series in the US.

If it is embarrasing to go to a store to buy a toy, there are plenty of online retailers who would gladly ship any product you want straight to your home. Shoppertron provides plenty of prices and sources for any product you might want.

I never said anything about how ACCURATE, colorwise, Hasbro and Takara's were in CR/RID.

By comparable quality I was refering to plastic and the quality of the chosen paint apps (even if they were different from Takara's)

tell that to my Optimus Prime's flat tieres adn my cracked Sideburn

dude calm down, when you compair the quality of carrobots to rid, carrobots ownes rid, the plastic and quality was so bad on the rid transformers compair to carrobots. like railracer and jrx, railracer has no clear windows its just solid colors which is cheaper to produce. they also added plastic to the tops of wild rides projectiles so the things don't fit right.

and why would i order a hasbro transformer and pay shipping for it when i preffer takara? i just hate going to wal-mart it's full of greasy smelly people.

bg is always saying hasbro listens, how can it be kids requesting things they've never seen, like landfill being re-painted into devastater, or a blue tracks? if you're 10 chances are you don't know what devastater is. so it must be a bunch of 20years plus people demanding it. and we all know takara listens just as much as hasbro. or did they decide to re-issue predaking on their own? takara is for adults hasbro is for kids that is a fact. how can hasbro market such toys as the alternators line and 20th optimus twords children they are a bit complex for kids imo.

sure uk fans have it bad but they don't have a country so close to them that gets the stuff, when you look at a map there isn't an ocean seperating the u.s from canada.

and that you have to own a takara toy to disscuss is a valid argument, how can you compair when all you own is one companies toys, plastic looks the same on the net in pictures but it can be different. you can come to your own conclusion from pics but once you compair them in your hands you will see that takara products are worth the money.the only reason i can see for liking hasbro more is because you have more important things to spend money on like school or a house or you seem to think a nerd is gonna steal your credit card # over the net.

besides which company is winning the vote :tftongue

UK this, UK that, UK this , UK that

i'm sorry to say but compared to the entire European Union UK is a bit insignificant!

teh market here is just as big as that in teh us, however if you make toys twice as expensive, you will sell only half....... and if you don't market them, you'll sell nothing......

well, i really think all this argument doesn't help, and let me explain why:

1st arguewing about who is the best is not gonna change whatever hasbro or takara are doing.

2nd neither hasbro or takara are gonna change nothing cause after 20 years they are still selling the same product, and whatever they are doing is working fine for them, so wheter we like it or not, they are gonna stick to it.

you like takara, stick to it, you like hasbro, go to the store and get it, but we are transfans, we are herecause we share something and is the love for transformers, not to kill the other guy just because he doesn't think like i do, some people need some growing up here, we live in a free world damn it, everybody can chose whatever they like, and nobody is to tell nobody that they are wrong or not just because thye like somethign different.

i like letting of nukes in a city, don't you tell me it's a bad habbit!

it's a free world!!! :clap

to ironically kill your argument :wave

the major perception is the region where you live, europe has very few to no love anymore for hasbro, in teh us i can understand you liek hasbro mùore cause of the enormous availability and the freaking low prices.

My vote goes to takara. although i live in the US i feel as if takara is better in many ways. for starters they get everything first. and when theres new toys made they are bound to be on store shelves asap. unlike over here ive been waiting for Alt. Hound ever since Smokescreen came out. Correct me if im wrong but wasnt the order the Alt/BT were designed was Smokscreen, Sideswipe, Hound, and then Silverstreak. I just got my Silverstreak last week. I still waiting for Hound and it seems that new Alts are put up on shelves once every 3-4 months. Takara also has Lucky Draws and Hasbro doesn't. Plus lets not forget how stupid it was that Armada Unicron was put in the Energon Unicron box.

sidenote: havent read previous posts. i dont plan on reading 255 posts.

YOU DON'T NEED TO HAVE THE ABILITY TO IMPORT TO SEE THE DIFFERENCES.

Frankly, if that's the best arguement you could give Auto on why he can't partcipate its a damn weak one.

Well, the point he is trying to make is that the ability to purchase and have the toy in hand actually matters and is an essential factor in deciding the better among the two. Someone who has never bought or held the two variants, Hasbro and Takara can merely come up with theoretical opinions, independent of experience, influenced solely by logical and mathematical deductions. But there is more to it than just logic. There is the satisfaction and expectation aspect, which one would most probably come to learn only by owning a tangible version.

In short, if younever had a single TF toy, and not being able to make a real comparison between Hasbro and Takara, judging by what you can view from pictures/prices on the internet, Hasbro might seem like a more 'value for money' product. But if you really get to hold two versions, say BT and Alt, there might be a change of perspective, because the weight of a BT gives it a 'high quality' impression, and it is a fact that it really isn't just an impression, but a fact.

I am not saying BT is better overall compared to Alt, BT and Alt are good for different reasons. Just pointing out the fact that the inability to actually possess a toy has a severe toll on one's evaluation of that toy.

and of course AutoFire372 is still entitled to his opinion despite what i said.
