ok here are my reasons for prefering takara

i lve in canada so we get none of the exclusives, like

any wal-mart exclusives (including megatron!) right there i would have too import one any way so why not at the place where i'm running a tab?

just the other day when the seacons were reveiled i thought wow a good universe thing, then not but ten min. later i find out its a wal-mart exclusive. Ya hasbro makes me feel happy when they do that :roll

target: i don't think there is a single target in all of canada so that nemisis prime you say the fans demanded i will never see.

samsclub no sams club in quebec so ummm no exclusive either.

k-mart: no k-marts in quebec. :redface

and the one store with exclusives that canada does get toys r us.but guess what, not in quebec because the boxes don't have french on them so even if we did get them someone would complain and they would be pulled from the shelves.

now get this that 20th optimus you praise so much quebec never actually got it. we got an accidental shipment only at toys r us. have you ever bought any thing at toys r us the price could kill you! 20th optimus with tax came to (that's right i bought it) 115$ cnd, do you wanna know how much i paid for mp convoy base fee no shipping 119$ cnd, so hasbro only saved ME 4$ so really you can see how in my eyes takara wins there.

and the reissues, i would have to import them anyway so why not get the ones i find more appealing.

i hate to tell this to a kid with downs syndrome but you just got owned! :wave

Its not so much hate of them, just that I hate how they get so much praise by the fandom at large for their efforts while Hasbro just seems to get sneered on most of the time even through for the prices they offer, they put just as much effort and concern into their products if not more so in listening to the fans. They just don't get the credit they deserve while Takara gets too much credit, especially for smaller stuff (stacks, diecast on BTs even through it shoots the price up to twice an alt, etc).

Rock on, BG! :clap Oh, and just to piss all the Takara fans off (j/k):

Screw Takara, make mine Hasbro! :tftongue

I like both actually, Takara is great for their reissues and sometimes better construction on the toys while Hasbro is good for, well, some things, not a lot, but some things. If Hasbro released more TF's here in the UK, I would like them a lot more. But I like both, no particular favourite.

Galvatron Takara deserves all the praise they get. They deliver quality TF. You say that Hasbro puts so much time and effort in their TF. Really? While Takara puts metal into their TF Hasbro puts cheap plastic in theirs. When Takara says a new TF is coming out its usually on time while Hasbro takes its sweet old time. Hasbro has concernes about the TF fans? Well I've had three bad a experiences with Hasbro's Customer Service so in my opinion they could care less about their fans or what we think for that matter. Your tired of Hasbro getting sneered at? Well maybe if Hasbro put more time and effort into their version of the TF product they wouldnt get sneered at. Hasbro slap's the TF toys together and puts them out on the shelves not caring in my opinion at all how the quality is. No Takara is no god when it comes to the TF because they do slip up from time to time but not as much as Hasbro. If Hasbro wants praise from me start caring about the product they put out especially when it comes to TF.

A few things I will mention:

Hasbro took out the metal of Alternators to make them affordable. Alts move slow enough at $20, they would barely move at all if the price was $30 or more (like the reissues or BTs)

Takara's products are more prompt to shelves for a number of reasons: Takara serves a vastly smaller market than Hasbro, and stores are run differently in Japan. The reason many toys have haphazzard distribution is more the fault of stores than Hasbro's.

The quality issue is a hard issue to address because there will always be a few bad eggs. But I have never had a problem with the quality on any of my Hasbro Transformers, with the exception of several store exclusives and Universe releases (but the recent releases have been pretty good). I have heard several stories of people getting less than stellar product from Takara as well.

Everyone should know by now that CS reps never know jack. They are not paid nor trained to keep up with everything put out by that company. I have never had to deal with Hasbro CS reps, but I doubt there are many companies that are much better or accurate in that department.

And I agree with BG that Hasbro really gets the shaft unfairly. Takara caters more to the G1 fans, and that is where I think many get the idea Takara is so much better. But if you look at the mainline, Hasbro has done far more than Takara in that regard and if Hasbro wasn't listening, we probably wouldn't be getting that Devastator-recolored Build Team.

Hasbro does care, why else would we be getting nearly half a dozen molds than Takara won't use in their Superlink series.

That isn't to say Takara doesn't produce quality product, but Hasbro shouldn't be shat on, just because they are more interested in bringing in new fans and expanding the franchsie than Takara seems to.

I couldn't have said it better myself.

To be fair, Hasbro did make their version of Tracks blue while Takara stuck with the yellow. Both companies have their ups and downs IMO.

only because the cheap plastic made the interior of tracks visable, so they had no choice but to make him a dark color, or he would look really fugly :tftongue

Good point. But at least they chose blue instead of some putrid color to correct that. And Takara is still making theirs yellow. I'm not bashing Takara, I'm just trying to put things in perspective. See my previous posts in this thread.

I understand your pain. I live in the states and have yet to find any of the Universe micromaster teams thanks to the good ol' KB Exclusive (boo!). And I've had to buy any wave 3.5/Wave 4 Energon figures off the internet at marked up prices.

:pfx And to think I was all ready to rant up, but SM's excellent rebuttal pretty much said everything I wanted to if not even moreso. Very nice man! :clap :clap :clap

Uh no as two points:

1. That shows they care about the quality of product and

2. The Blue Repaint was always in the works to be a separate item from Yellow Tracks but the plastic issues pushed him up. Here's the Panel info from OTFCC thx to the Allspark on this subject:

- Tracks was initially going to be yellow with a blue repaint later, but the interior was showing through the plastic. Since Takara paints over metal they could keep the yellow, but we are getting blue instead.
