Starscream is one of the most complex characters in all the Transformer multiverse. It would only follow that his representations throughout the Transformers multiverse would be just as complex. Just as diverse. You claim to be a Starscream fan, yet--curiously--you've gone and put him in this one-dimensional box where he does nothing but smirk. No complexity. No three-dimensional aspect to his personality. Just a smirk and a color scheme.

 

That's quite the disservice.

 

I read Michael Bay the riot act every chance I get when it's merited, but one thing I will always give his vision of the Transformers credit for is this: Bayverse Starscream matched his G1 bio almost across the board. And the designers did not take the lazy way out. They could have dished out the same-old, same-old like nearly every other iteration of the TF multiverse. They did not. They gave us something completely different with Starscream physically. Hell, even Animated took their share of cues from the movie (his HELMET).

 

As long as it bears the name and ACTS LIKE STARSCREAM, it is Starscream.

ALL TFs in the movie with different heads do NOT have traditions to follow!

I mean christ, his body style always varies in each continuity. Even chunkier in cybertron. In the movie, Hellscream's body is also ok and could've passed off as SS. But while SS's body changes from time to time, his head does NOT.

 

But yet it does in the movie. That's unacceptable. Therefore there's NO way he could possibly be Starscream

Now your insulting Starscream? You are seriously in denial. It's more then a smirk and a stupid head. Movie Starscream acts like G1 Starscream. Hell he is the closest out of all the Starscreams to how the G1 is.

Oh come on. Starscream still has some G1 traits. He still transforms into a jet, He still has his " I don't get in a fight unless I'm certain I will win" personality, He's still is Megatron's second in command, and he still acts like he's loyal to Megatron, when he's waiting for the right time to take over.

 

My point? Starscream may not look like his G1 counterpart, but he certainly acts like it.

 

And if you think that Starscream sould be judged ONLY by appearance, then I suppose that when Starscream took over Waspinator's body in Beast Wars, that that was not Starscream, BUT THEN WHO WAS IT THEN?!!!

But Atmo, SS didn't act like SS in Energon. Or even smirk, which apparently has something to do with something.

 

Movie Starscream is Starsream, it's ok, you'll be fine. You don't like it, whatever that's your thing, but you do not get to dictate what other fans think or accept.

 

But whats this characterization thing got to do with cosmetics right? I think your just in denial that everybody else doesn't think like you or should think like you on this matter. Getting all capslock about it isn't going to change that.

It's not the smirk itself, it's the symbolism behind it. Be it that you can clearly see he's having fun being a jackass or he's plotting his next scheme to take over as leader. It gave him a lot of character. Without it, he's just another jetformer.

 

Sadistic love of destruction. Examples? Watch Cybertron. He establishes a base in a volcano, harvests omega lock power, grows to the size of unicron, and unleashes all hell on cybertron! You could see the happy expression in his mouth too all the while.

 

Yes I am indeed a true fan. I'm the one defending his core characteristics. Everyone else seems to have no problem letting him die. We'll I'm not weak like that!

 

Waspinator counts for nothing. That was possession, not an actual SS body. If that was to be his look, then yes there would've been a problem.

 

Hasbro and everyone else can call him whatever the fuck they want to, but mark my words I would sooner die than accept that ugly piece of shit as Starscream!

 

PS you can't call older ones Smirkscream because they came first and established the character for what he is. You can only use alternate names if a new design shows up that destroys patterns and/or doesn't properly represent the character. It doesn't work the other way, pal...

What the fuck are you talking about? His mouth is just hanging wide open. He's not smirking. The face lacks the ability! Cybertron SS has a slight sneer to his mouth if you look.

 

Energon...Well he still had the traditional head. And I saw him smirk in another episode. He wasn't my favorite SS, but he was still SS clear as day

Look at his eyes and facial expression, it's full of snark. More than Energon SS who was just a mindless ghost. That's what the fuck I'm talking about. Are you seriously making up this argument as you go along? Because your rewriting your argument as you go along.

Atmo's main problem is no one agrees with him, his second problem is he is too obsessed with G1 Starscream to see the other's are different and not like G1 Starscream. The only reason why he doesn't like Movie Starscream is because of his head.

 

However in the end he has no argument, simply because Starscream is more then a head

No. I'm defending what he truly is. G1 is not the only continuity I refer to. Armada, Energon, Cybertron, Animated, Prime. They ALL have the same heads!

 

If you were a true fan, YOU would recognize the head design is crucial to who he is. Don't try to turn my own argument against me, you scumbag!

Then look at the Energon, Animated, and Prime heads again. And you would see they are different
