So it's all about looks to you then?

when the looks have never changed at all beforehand, then yes, it DOES matter.

ESPECIALLY when less popular TFs get to keep the traditional appearances

I asked this earlier ... but other then Prime and possible BB, who really got to keep their "traditional appearances" that you're referring too? Most of them have been quite different.

Well dude, characterization for me isn't based on the looks. It comes from how the characters personality is portrayed, while I wont lie, physical features has something to do with that in a visual medium. It isn't the sole reason a character would appeal to me, or the reason I would like the character. I mean, when Starscream possessed Waspinator, he still looked like ol Waspy (cept for that Con symbol on his head). He didn't smirk at all, but know what? Until he was blasted out of Waspinators body, he was 100% Starscream.

You make an interesting Point robo_rob... and while it won't change the fact that I think they distributed his excess Mass in a way that I can only describe as... "Unimaginative" you've at least got ME now wondering if he would be a little bit easier to swallow as Starscream if he had a smarmier voice and/or hadn't gotten gypped on screen time... you know, along with everyone else. :roll

I guess unless this next movie is a total robot fest and not just a bunch of fight scenes and Sam playing with his new Barbie Doll, (ooooh... I just can't help but put down Ms. Whitley, I'm sorry! I keep saying I won't, but I do anyway! :tfsad ) we may never know...

... don't tell me to read the comics... ;p

Oh please Starscream has changed over the years, so you can't say Traditional, and only 1 movie character was able to stay close to his look but he still was changed and that is Prime

Honestly, when it comes to the movie stuff, the best option for more in depth characterization is the comics and prose. I know you'd rather see it on screen (me too), but it is what it is.

Aaaah... C'est la vie...

... or maybe just C'est la Hollywood? :tfgrin

And one more thing...

I think I'll call the movie one "Starscream" and the other ones "Smirkscream." :rofl

John... dude... don't take this the wrong way, but... Seriously? Are you TRYING to give Lord Atmo an aneurysm or something? :P

The smirk is only half of the problem. The rest is that he looks NOTHING like Starscream. You CAN'T break patterns!

Optimus Prime was NOT the only design they kept traditional. Look at Shockwave and Jazz!

Get over it already. Sheesh! We're on the third movie and you're still complaining about the Starscream's movie design?
