Transformers: The Religion

I don't see how the Transformers Faith is any more or less valid than any other religion. To paraphrase Bertrand Russell:

If I were to suggest that the Transformers, Cybertron and Primus were real, nobody would be able to disprove my assertion provided I were careful to add that they were beyond the perception of current science. But if I were to go on to say that, since my assertion cannot be disproved, it is intolerable presumption on the part of human reason to doubt it, I should rightly be thought to be talking nonsense. If, however, the existence of such the Transformers were affirmed in ancient books, taught as the sacred truth every Sunday, and instilled into the minds of children at school, hesitation to believe in its existence would become a mark of eccentricity and entitle the doubter to the attentions of the psychiatrist in an enlightened age or of the Inquisitor in an earlier time.

A little too serious aren't we? This is the kind of thing we should be making fun of, not endorsing.

Why be so unkind? Unlike some other religions, nobody has yet been persecuted, harmed or killed in the name of the Transformers Faith. Search my post history - IIRC I have never mocked anyone else's religion. I would kindly appreciate being shown the same respect that I've shown to others. Thank you.

^ What are you talking about? Our OWN kind are persecuting us in this thread! We're as suicidal as the Catholic Church was before the Protestants broke off!

:tflaugh

I believe that transformers exist in an alternate universe and that our cartoons are the windows into that universe. That's one of my beliefs, and how dare you call that NOT my religion! It's the facet of my religion that I will put down on the census.

By the way, I'm also Catholic and I have no issue with this at all. I find it hilarious.

:agree :agree :agree

I feel as creators we ...peer into another dimension and that somehow we are lucky enough to see just what happens there and to tell the story borrowing from these universes.

Religion? Hmmmmmm..... ;)

Sounds like Galaxy Quest a little I think.

One of my favorite movies! ^_~

I think the best representation of TF religion happened in the Marvel comic. If this new religion means I can dress up like Unicron at the End of Days and run around like a nutcase and rip people's arms off, I'm game!

You don't have to be unkind if you don't want to, but you shouldn't say that this is okay either. Besides, for all we know this just being done as a joke.

Meh, I feel like this thread has run its course and everyone is going to break off into two groups: people that are for the idea and people against. If there is one thing I wont support, its a Civil War on Tformers. Ugh.

Ultimately before anything gets to heated, its necessary to just say "we agree to disagree".

But if your a TFologist Hasbro send you free toys. Just kiddin!

Galaxy Quest is a great movie

Point taken. TFormers is a faction free zone. It always starts at one site and eventually becomes a fandom civil war. Sounds crazy right? Well crazier things have happened.

Like when that guy Blitzwing had a change of heart all them years ago? GASP! I DONT KNOW WHATS WHAT ANYMORE! :P

So would Unicron worshipers listen to Danzig with Skullgrin as his symbol instead of that skull from Crystar? If so, I'm in.

All of that is fine and dandy.. but your forgetting something. Transformers were not recorded in such a manner. It's just a cheaply produced, 80s cartoon show to sell Takara's floundering Diaclone line in america.

.. seriously dude, I think it's time you found something else to do with your time. If you want to believe, this really should of been something you keep to yourself. It's a little creepy.
