To me, all of that stuff was just part of the story. I really couldn't be sad for the death of a cartoon robot. I find it so odd that so many fans were affected by Prime's death as children.

I agree, there was no 'sadness' - but, in the telling of a story - losing a character can affect your views of things. Losing Prime, imho, drastically changed the feel of what TFers were about - since he was such a central figure.

To put it in another context, as an adult, if you are into football at all -- how do you feel when your team loses it's franchise QB? How will IND feel when Peyton Manning retires? Or NE when Brady is cut or traded away?? There is a sense of unease in what the new leader will look like - and whether the team will suceed going forward, or if there is a sense of a downgrade.

I very much liken it to that. Just ticked that they took away the starting QB and wanted to change it around too much. There was definately no sadness or tears or any such thing. AS said, just wasn't that emotionally invested.

-also if you where refering to me, I'm not a G1 purist, I just think :animated sucked.

You've made that clear :P

The slaughter on the autobot shuttle was definitely one that made me go "wow, what just happened"? But as most of you have stated it has to be Prime.

I must admit though, in the movie I loved the way Prowl's face ignited from the inside when he died. But I don't think Brawn died immediately. I reckon he got tortured all the way to Earth, and then as the decepticons left the shuttle, with his last ounces of strength he piloted the shuttle to crash away from any populated areas. A hero's death

they did that in a Mosaic. It was cool.

I like whe Irohide got blown up :D

I totally forgot about Animated Optimus's death, quickest death and rebirth ever in tf history lol. And for being sad about a cartoon characters death no different from books, movies, and tv characters death. Just meant to envoke the audience emotions :P

You've made that clear :P

I'm in my right. I think my happiest TF death had to be that entire series.

Yeah everyone has their personal opinions of the shows, I don't think anyone here personally likes every Transformers series made but their will always be someone who likes the series that you dislike, except Kiss Players....I think pretty much EVERYONE hated that abomination.

Another character death I just remembered is Razorbeast from the Beast War comics (I forgot the name of them). Now my TF comic knowledge is a bit rough but if I recall correctly Razorbeast was infected by some sort of rage virus (might be the same one from that G1 episode) and then he goes all savage like Pumba after snorting a kilo of crack and becomes a danger to everyone. I forget what happens next but I do know that Optimus Minor had to pull an "Ol' Yeller" moment and put down Razorbeast himself. Not close to being a Dino-Death but still something I thought I'd mention.
