starscream was a har away from being a slow motion/BB Gun clip on Youtube but Nelo gave him a home instead.

The Animated figures I like,

Lugnut (mainly for the staff)

Lockdown although after the movie one up...

Leader Megatron

Leader Ultra Magnus

Blurr

Jazz

Both Prowls

Blackarachnia (although I still prefer the BM version)

Swoop (even with the ceap plastic)

Slag (IDK)

Both deluxe Primes

Don't get me wrong, I have no problem giving credit where it's due. Even the figures listed I've had problems with. I had to return Lockdown 4 times, and WTF is with the parts that don't store!?!

Overall though, even concerning the figures I like, I wish they'd all get the Lockdown kickass movie treatment!

ironicly I do have about a dozen TF1 Starscreams :P

I had forgotten about leader Megatron. Probably the best out of all of them. He makes a pretty good Universe Megs given it's competition. I actually like all the ones you listed except for Slag. He is doomed to stay in dino mode forever. Swoop rocks. Putting that mace in his hand and being able to cross his arms, he looks so badass.

i agree on the choice of dinobot in beast wars, that was quite a sad episode when he died!!

having said that i like that he kind of came back thru dinobot II especially when the rampage spark was destroyed!

when a transformer dies in a story i never quite know if it is for good(final),they have a habit of resurfacing in one form or another...

For my part, i think Optimus Primes death effected me the most.

to find us,search everbuying at Yahoo,rank No.1

By far the most tragic and unexspected death came from the 1986 movie. I don't recall ever crying as much as a kid as I did when I saw the most iconic tranformer and probably the most Iconic hero of all time die. I know that depending on the era you grew up in some transformers mean more to you than others but can anyone really say they werent a little choked up when they saw Galvatron kill Starscream. I mean you would have to be heartless to not have had tears in your eyes the first time you saw it happen. Ive seen it hundreds of times and still ask my self, "Why oh why did starscream have to die! WHY!!!!!!!!"

I'm torn between optimus prime's death in the movie and Dinobot's demise in Beast Wars. Both wrenched my heart.

The words I would have used for DB's death have already been used in very good explanations by my fellow TFans members here, so i will let their testimonies to that fact stand without my additional input. As for Prime's death, for me that has different connotations on a personal level.

Optimus Prime was not the best of them because he was the largest, strongest or the leader. He was the best of the transformers because he did not know the word "quit". He may have had to withdraw at times from a situation, or do what he had to at the moment, but he never gave up. In the face of the worst onslaughts, he stood firm and strong, while others were in doubt. This is why his death struck many in the movie: at the moment Megatron gloated over his seeming victory over prime, prime used the last ounce of his energy to send Megatron a response that he would not forget:

Megatron: "It's OVER, Prime"

Prime: "NEVER!!!!"

In this vein, he shares a kinship with Dinobot, who like Prime, would rather have used his last remaining ounce of energy than to see evil win. A hero isn't someone looks good in the cameras when the battle is over and all eyes are on the champion; a hero is someone who does what is right, no matter the cost. They put the good of other above their own, even if it kills them in the process.

"Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends." (John 15:13, NIV)

Prime's death didn't affect me because I knew he would be back, and I was always a Deceptikid anyways.

Prowl's death suffered from being squeezed into an episode that tried to cram too much in ... his death lacked impact because of this.

Dinobot was given a full episode to poignantly reflect on his role in the Beast Wars and the sacrifice he knew he had to make, the burial scene was incredibly well written and the whole episode worked extremely well. I'd even say Transmutate's death carried far more weight than Prime and Prowl's.

Which death of prime are you refering to? If you are talking about the 1986 movie. He actually did not come back for quite a while. In fact the first time he did come back it was as a zombie and they killed him again.... I actually remember the impact primes death had in 86. They even talked about it on the news and in papers. a lot of parents were upset because their kids were so "traumatized" by it.

But if you are talking about the RotF Prime. Ehhh, I don't think any one really paid attention to that. (just saying)

They did dinobots death really well. Very dramatic.

I still go with screamers death though. Did anyone really see that coming?

Starscream death was not the only surprise in the 1986 movie. The shuttle was also very unexspected. A lot of famous G1 Transfrmers died (Iornhide, Prowl, Brawn, Ratchet and Bluestreak.). The only Autobot's that never died in G1 was Jazz, Cliffjumper and Bummblebee/Glodbug.

But the most Painful Death was Beast Wars Dinobot. His Transmetal form Death was not so Dramatic (If that was his death, some people say he lived because of his regenerating Rampage spark).

I was referring to the 86 Movie ... I think most kids going to see the movie knew what was going to happen to Prime, which cushioned the blow. The scene where characters we didn't know were mourning and lamenting his loss just didn't really upset me ... I was too excited about getting to know the new TFs and watching the movie story unfold. At the end of the Movie the voiceover guy also told us that Prime would be returning.

G1 was all about the UK comics for me ... and Prime never really disappeared in them - as that universe was mostly set in the 80s.

As far as effecting me Optimus Prime's hit me the hardest. I was an 80's kid but didn't see the movie till I was about 20 yrs old. It kinda hit hard. Don't get me wrong Dino's was very powerful, but a hero of mine dieing and getting replaced did not set well with me.
