I know this has been discussed, but again, i'm a fan of POLLS and being able eto see actual numerical results -- as sometimes vocal minorities can overcrowd an actual impression.

It seems that PARAMOUNT's exit polls have 91% of viewers thinking it was better than the 1st. Of course, Paramount is a vested interest and could easily conduct a poll to heavily lean numbers one way or another.

Just for comparisons to that of the board, I'm putting it out there as well.

I think most feel the 2nd movie had better fight scenes. I think most will admit, the 1st had better character developement. There are aspects to like about both movies - and aspects were they come up lacking. But when you take all the positives you liked about the movie, and all the negatives you didn't like about them -- and it comes down to that ONE question.....

DO YOU THINK ROTF was a BETTER movie than the 1st one?

In some ways it was better, at lease in the sense that there was more robots and action. However I think the characters were better defined with the first movie. There was also a lot less goofy characters (the twins, Wheelie, Leo, etc) which just padded out the run time for Fallen. I'd have to go with the first movie.

^^^ I violently agree.

And thus vote that The first was better, because even though it didn't feature the Transformers as prominently as it should have, it nailed character portrayal and was still a BETTER MOVIE.

I disagree, as while I believe the first movie was a good movie... but if there was one I would want to watch more it would Be ROTF.

In the first one Prime was a wuss, but that gets ultra-remedied in ROTF.

ROTF had Jetfire

ROTF had a better Starscream and Megatron relationship

I think character wise the two movies are basically even.

Also, you have Soundwave and Ravage... and a Soundwave voiced by Frank Whelker no less!

ROTF had better human and Transformer interaction in my opinion.

And in the action scenes, you don't just see a foot.

If you're asking in cinematic terms, which I think you are...I'd say the first movie is better as a cohesive film.

TF2 wasn't bad, it was just trying to hard to be over the top.

TF1 on the otherhand was hyper, but it was a multi level story that played out well.

*bump* for more voting....

Hmm... so far, the results on this board.. are looking "NOTHING" like the 91% paramount is touting...

I voted for the 07 movie.

It was a tough choice, though.

They are two different films with two different main story lines.

But I stand behind part one and the incredible origin story it told us.

Part two has far better action scenes.

And Devastator, but the whole movie (and story) of part one is far better than part two.

Wait...I cannot say I like both equally?

I liked the 2nd movie in terms bot action and bot close ups ( cons anyway).
