for me, the 2nd movie was great with fantastic CGI and actions, but it's not "OMG, the best film ever!!"

i liked the first one better because it was unexpectedly funny, the characters were funnier, much more so than the 2nd film. and i agree that the 1st TFM had more 1 on 1 bot fight, each of them got a voice and stuff.

here's some of the things i didn't like as much and what i think Bay(and/or the script writers) could've done better:

- sideways died just like that... so was ravage...

- noooo soundwave!!! what happened to your voice!!?? also starscream had a different voice this time..

- i'd like to see the story behind starscream's tatoo

- megatron could've been much more destructive, he had a tank alt mode and all

- all the decepticons reinforcements that comet-ed to the pyramid were like extra filler robots that doesn't know how to take cover and died out...

- ...and they didn't even transform!!! i was hoping to see some bad as$ cybertronian creatures or machines as their alt mode or something

- prime was getting his as$ handed to megatron in the 1st, and now he's the only one who can take down the fallen... that's a big leap...

- speaking of big leaps, bumblebee was like Bruce Lee and took down meaner looking decipticons... and that got me thinking...

- were all the decipticons for looks? the desert battle was so one-sided it didn't felt that exciting...

- oh and there were too much "one man..." talk from that S7 guy and not even an introduction to any of the new autobots that appeared

all in all, i prefer the decipticons to be overwhelmingly powerful, but autobots prevail at the end or something like that.

btw i DON'T hate the movie!!! i'd go see it again if i have time :mwahaha

I'd have to go with the 07 movie, the reasons being it took me by suprise i grew up with this stuff, as we all did.

First times a charm, kinda like a kiss(no homo) it had all the magic to it seeing starscream for the 1st time i smiled just like i did when i saw the g1 cartoons for the 1st time as a kid.

ROTF came out i walked and was just like ehh w.e its a transformers movie, i mean its fighting scenes were amazing, but they tried to cram too many things in too one film and what you got was a bucnh of mixed up stuff that leaves you having to watch it twice to understand lol

07 is a far better movie in the ways of characters, STORY!!,and just over all shock effect

ROTF is better in fight scenes, close ups, and visual effects.

IMO RotF had more good stuff but also had more bad stuff than the first movie.

yes, in a way the 2nd film was better and worse at the same time. :bored

I think Revenge of the Fallen is much better! I mean it has the best scene in the history of movies which is the Forest Battle.

I never loved and hated a movie at the same time the way I did the first time I watched RotF...

I resemble this remark. :tflaugh

You may be onto something there. The action, the special effects, the emotion ("I'll take you ALL on!")... It's going to be hard to think of a better scene in a movie...

Wait, are we speaking of any and all movies?!

Wait, are we speaking of any and all movies?!

Is that a challenge I hear? I ACCEPT!

Jurassic Park. Come on, every little boy was all about the dinosaurs.

Star Wars (the originals mind you) - Luke. I am your father.

Terminator and Terminator 2 - OMFG!!! They just come right back up?!?

Alien and Aliens- Their not your friendly E.T.

Indiana Jones - LOOK OUT MR. JONES!

Matrix - Where did bullet time come from? Oh yeah, this movie.

Pulp Fiction - English, motherf#cker! Do you speak it?!

Lord of the Rings - Will they ever make a another big budget fantasy film as good as this?

Akira - TETSUO!!! KANADA!!!

Saving Private Ryan - Ouch, a war movie that hurts to watch.

Rambo - Crazy veterans what more could you ask?

Batman: The Dark Knight - *comic fan drool

Spiderman and Spiderman 2 - Spectacular. Spectacular. Spiderman... ooh wait wrong theme. Spiderman. Spiderman. Can do anything a spider can.

Ironman - Perfect role for Robert Downey Jr. a drunk with money and a kicka$$ suit.

Scarface - Say hello to my little friend!

Die Hard - Bruce Willis fame into action hero status.

Children of Men - That long tracking shot at the end was phenomenal.

That is all I can think of on the top of my head. I am sure people could add on.

here's some more:

300 - "This! Is! SPARTA!" The first day of combat. Grizzled warriors wading through combat like the damage monkeys they are, in a fluid, balletic dance of death and dismemberment. Best use of slowmo in a combat scene.

From Dusk till Dawn - sociopathic brothers and their hostages team up against a horde of bikini-clad vampires, with a jackhammer stake, a crossbow, a holy-water super-soaker, and a crotch gun.

Hellboy - the ever-lovin' Ron Perlman dons the stumps of Mike Mignola's signature character and gives eldritch horror something to fear. Every action scene was superbly done, from the WWII scene, and every single fight scene which had Hellboy, with the ultimate battle against that tentacle SPAM monster.

For the sequel, highlights are the Troll Market fight between Red and Mr. Wink, the scene with Death, and of course, final swordfight between Red and Nuada.

Blade - he's half vampire, half black. like Shaft with a bite, baby. Swordfight with Deacon Frost is the best, although every vamp-fragging scene is a wonder.

Equilibrium - Christian Bale's first attempt at being dark and brooding, without the sore throat. Despite the inherent silliness of gun-kata, every fight scene was beautifully choreographed. My personal favorite is still the wing-chung-style duel with the big bad at the end.

Every single Bruce Lee, Jacky Chan and Jet Li film - because there's too much awesome kung-fu goodness to highlight a single one. Although they have differing styles, their fight scenes are always wonderfully shot and choreographed. The Lees both do unstoppable uber damage monkey of doom, while Jacky owns the comedic underdog hero role, blending action and comedy in a way that can make Riggs and Murtaugh want to hang up their badges.

Seven Samurai - the most action heavy of Akira Kurosawa's samurai flicks is also heavy on drama and pouty Japanese peasant faces. Kyuzo(the badass silent super samurai guy)'s training session with the unnamed ronin is my personal fave.

Apocalypse Now - "I love the smell of napalm in the morning." A movie with explosions and plot!

Predator - "you one ahgly mhathahf*cka!" and "if eet bleeds, we kahn keel eet!" Hell, this movie was a collection of action awesomey goodness, from the firefight with the rebels, to Mac letting Old Painless loose after Blaine gets tagged, to Billy going native, to the final hunt scene between Dutch and the Pred. Plenty of explosions! Tight pacing! Still has plot!!!

So yeah, I'll just chalk it up the kids' lack of exposure to any real good action films.

- i'd like to see the story behind starscream's tatoo

I think those are discussed in the comic "sequel" to the first movie: "Starscream's Reign" or something like that...

Reign of Starscream is about what happens after the first movie from Starscream's POV (along w/ Arcee's for certain parts). It involves Screamer going back to Cybertron after having broken into S7 HQ and getting Frenzy's body which held schematics of the Allspark. His intention was to go and build a new one and use Autobot prisoner sparks to power the machine (along with Crankcase's as an example to all Decepticons displaying his new undisputed leadership and what would happen to those who pretty much wouldn't fall in line). Between some Decepticon traitors and an Autobot attack, things fall apart and he goes back to Mars following Dreadwing and blasting him. In the ROTF prequel Alliance, amidst the ruins of Dreadwing, Screamer has used his fingers to scratch the tatoos onto himself, again as a confirmation of his leadership.

Of course the problem with that is his outer armature is all (if not almost all w/ a possible few exceptions) the same material, so why he's able to do this in this fashion is beyond me and requires a brief suspension of reality just to enjoy it, which I do.
