ROTF Constructicons

Recommended Posts

As for Unicron, Bay can only change what Hasbro let's him change. Nothing more. They still have full veto power. Bay doens't have complete free-reign to do whatever he wants. He can only do what Hasbro allows him to do.

How could a movie Unicron be the same one from across the different continuities? The ones we're already familiar with are nowhere near spiky enough to be in the movieverse!

Because Unicron alters his appearance as he evolves, which he is constantly doing, as stated in the paragraph I quoted from the Ultimate Guide.

Got that---just trying to lighten the conversation---- :roll

Guys, give it up...there's no lightening the mood when it come to discussing anything with Tramp. The dude is intense & always right... :roll

Oh, P.S. I didn't mention the Animated Constructicons because 1.) there's been no confirmation that the series is actually over (even if we all believe that to be the case), and 2.) Hasbro made the statement that they had no plans to release Animated Constructicon toys until they were "fully realized"...many took that as a hint that more were coming, and quite possibly followed by the big green guy himself. Nonetheless, since you brought them up, they did serve as a ragtag team (until they were blown up & separated...only Scrapper showing up again towards the end of season 3), they were construction vehicles, and they did build stuff (assisted Bulkhead with the space bridge)...3 out of 4 of the points I listed.

Now it's your turn to tell me why I'm wrong, right?! We should really have a :beer or 12!

It's a shame to see this conversation going the way it is...

Agreed...it'd probably be a good idea to take Unicron to a different thread, and get back on the topic "Replying to ROTF Constructicons"... :shrug

Then we can be told how we're wrong on two threads, instead of one! :yay

Reading all these replies gives me a wicked desire to send angry letters to HASBRO. We should band together and tell those guys WE'RE NOT HAPPY in writing, so the next time they screw up something they can't say: "Well, we thought you'd LIKE it if Unicron transforms into an army of Camaros and is Bumblebee's evil Twin! You never TOLD us you thought we were doing a bad job!"; they'll have our words of dissaproval in a folder somewhere.

Of course it may change NOTHING, but at least we'd get the Moral Victory and be able to say: "Well, Hasbro, we told you we didn't like it..."

BTW, on the subject of Constructicons, I am very proud of myself; as I saw "Voyager Mixmaster" at the store yesterday, but didn't buy it as I was so underwhelmed by his role in the film. TAKE THAT HASBRO! :D

The key word there is ragtag. They're not some "elite team" in Animated, just a couple of bots who happen to be construction workers and transform into construction machines (because that's what they started out as). Also, Hasbro has stated flat out that the show was over and done with. There'll be more toys, and maybe comics, but the animation is done, finito. They have also said flat out that they have no plans whatsoever to release toys of the Animated Constructicons at all. They aren't simply waiting until they're fully realized. They have no intention of even making toys of them, period.

I think Hasbro would allow Bay to change Unicron if he wants within reason. I don't think the movie universe is part of the other TF cartoon/comic multiverse. If it has been stated as such, I don't see any reason why they couldn't change their minds, unless there's some important stoyr element somewhere that would stop this. But just like Batman and Hulk rebooted their movie franchises, making new movie universes, I think the TF movie universe is different from the current existing multiverse and doesn't have to adhere to it's established rules. As long as Hasbro can sell toys I think they'll be all for it.

All that said, the whole new Unicron idea for TF3 is just something I came up with for fun. I'm not saying Bay and co. will do it by any means, I just think it's a fun idea. And now, after I've thought about other stuff I'd like to see in TF3, I'm thinking it'd be better off waiting until a later movie for Unicron...

The movieverse is indeed part of the greater multiverse, as per Hasbro decree. The multiverse is simply the entirety of all of the various Transformers continuities. The only thing they all have in common, as per Hasbro decree is Primus, Unicron, and the Original 13, which are multiversal singularities—singular beings unique in all the multiverse. Primus, the creator god, existing simulataneously in all realities at once in the physical form of Cybertron, Unicron, a being who travels between different realities, and the Original Thirteen, the first creations of Primus, guardians of various aspects of reality, some who travel between realities, others who, like Primus, exist simultaneously in all realities at once in order to maintain their duty. Thus we can conclude that the All Spark cube was a physical vessel for the power of Primus. His "proxie" so to speak. Like the Prime's said, the cube was just the Vessel, for the All Spark's power. According to the novelization, the power of the All Spark had transfered to Sam, and then into the Matrix, thus making the Matrix the All Sparks new physical vessel. the movie and Defiance also state that the Original Primes were pandimensional. They traveled through different dimensions, different realities. Thus, it maintains the multiversal nature of Primus, and the movie-verse's connection to the rest of the Multiverse.

As such, if and when Unicron (and Primus) make their movie appearance, they won't be completely different. Bay will need to maintain who and what they are. The Constructicons are not bound by that though, because they aren't multiversal singularities. Every version of them is different.

I don't think Hasbro takes multiverse continuity as seriously as you do. And even if they do, again I was just puting the ideas out there for fun as something I, personally, would do with TF3.

Actually, yeah they do, from everything I've read and heard from Hasbro. They take it very seriously. I agree coming up with "new ideas" is fun, but they'll never change official policy.

Huh, you're actually right:

After a lack of communication and much speculation, it was officially announced at BotCon 2009 that the series was over, at least in a televised format.

Missed that announcement. Anyway, you sure set me straight on them there Animated Constructicons!

Thank you, your multiversal singularityship. :thumb

P.S. Constructicons RULE! :hbang

It's funny, because Hasbro HAS changed their policy before. I mean, I could be wrong (Which unlike Tramp, I'll admit to) but wasn't unicron created by a monkey in the G1 cartoon originally?

You mean Primacron? Whose name is nearly synonymous with The One? (Prima, derived from Prime, meaning One or First). Who is to say that Primacron, and The One are not one and the same? Simply put, there's no contradiction there.

Uh, the fact that one's supposed to be the creator of Primus, etc, and one's a ****ing monkey. (PS, when people delibrately leave facts that everyone knows out, you don't have to fill in the blanks.) The fact that there's no Primus in the G1 cartoon and the Transformers were created by the Quintessons is the contradiction. (And don't hit me with "The Ultimate Guide says", because I don't give a damn what the Ultimate Guide says, the cartoon says that the Quintessons built the Transformers in the cartoon, therefore, they're built by the Quintessons in the cartoon. Pretty ****ing simple. Most kids back in the 80's could understand it.)
