Anyway, I've still got some hope that there will be another version of Devastator. So far, Hasbro hasn't said outright that the Voyager/Deluxe figures will not combine. I'm waiting for them to clear things up during their Q&A section at Toy Fair before I :inhpoo anyone.

The component vehicles look a bit basic. I wonder if there will be 2 versions at differing price points?

The vehicles have a more "kiddy" look to them than the individual ones.

 

That aside, this toy looks like ass. Very disproportionate and hardly faithful to the CGI model at all.

 

$100.00 is not worth a simple combiner unless you get individual bots too.

 

And lastly, now that we know the other constructicon toys wont be able to combine, then that makes Voyager Scavenger another huge turd and an utterly worthless toy.

Oh my god yes, I absolutely agree, but tbh we can't really blame it on the toy, it's a really accurate representation of the movie character.

Blaming the toy by not liking and buying it is the only way to send the message to the people that concieved it that what they did isn't very good.

 

From what I've seen, it will look very good on the screen, but bad on the shelf outside of alt mode.

 

Now I know Mr Bay is going to do whatever he wants, and so far so good on screen. However Hasbro has to take some actions and set forth the president that the designs have to apeal on more than just a visual level.

 

Both have to also leave room for certain liberties. For example, TF1 Leader Prime. The alt and completed bot pretty much fit the bill. Outside of that though, the screen and toy version had many differences.

 

Now take Scavenger. Realy, it looks like half a toy. It does however have to keep a screen resmblence, which it does. That said though, why couldn't Hasbro go the extra mile like they did with lets say Beast Machines Rattrap, Thrust, and Jetstorm. These figures on the show had no legs. The toys however where faithful to the program, but still had that little extra so the bots could stand(with articulation no less).

 

Hence, we don't blame Scavenger the toy. It's molded plastic. We can however point out that we sadly are not getting as good as we've gotten, and ask for better as our hard earned dollars deserve.

I move that from here on out, complaints aimed solely at the movie that the entire franchise is guilty of be termed "irrational anger".

I agree, but we must also acknowledge the times when the movie is no better than the lowliest G1 cartoon.
