Comics

I'm way late to the comics game, though not of choice. I have no local comic store (well I do but the owner is a complete dick. I hate his guts). But my Books A Million has started carrying comics en masse! I was wondering if there was anything in particular that you guys could recommend for me to read. There were a lot of choices as far as TFs go and I don't really know where to start. I saw Escalation, Stormbringer and a few Spotlights among others. I ended up picking up All Hail Megatron and I am a total fan of that now. So come on guys, help a guy out! :D

Loved it, especially the Marvel issues. Didn't really see the need for the Armada versions, but whatever. But, is it just me or did Optimus pretty much get his ass kicked in the majority of the stories :tflaugh I mean, he died in two of them (Marvel, Animated Movie), and came close to death in Escalation

i can't seem to find it anywhere. i know it was pre-released @ botcon, but has it shipped to retailers for general release yet?

Hey guys I was wondering how i would go about listing and selling the transformer comic books I have. dave

So has anyone read the first issue of IDW's newest (very unpublicized) Transformers title, Heart of Darkness? If so what do you think so far?

How would you rate the IDW TF comics? do you think their better or worse than DW or Marvel? do you prefer marvel,DW or IDW? Which did/does a better TF comic job? Personally I thought the Marvel TF USA & UK comic stories were the best. I felt bob & simon furman created some unique TF comic stories. simon furman I felt did a awesome story telling job with all those TF UK comic issues. I loved the simon furman TF Marvel comic issues in america. Simon wrote a great G-2 marvel comics story. Dreamwave,I felt came the closets/in 2nd place to the Marvel TF comics stories awesomeness, with the much needed improved art designs. their were no major character pers…

Phil Jimenez has been in the comics business for a long time, and he'll probably be one to tell you that h's very lucky to have his job of choice. Having put in his time, he's now capitalizing on his tenure, and choosing which projects he's drawing based on the "fun" factor, meaning passing the Phil Jimenez litmus test is part of the selection process. What catches his eye the most? One of those ideas that made the cut was IDW's Transformers: Dark Cybertron (SEP130332), and in this interview Phil talks about what the gig entailed. So I just read #23 and I like how the narrative keeps jumping between current day and the past, as well as expanding on just how corrupt and just downright evil the Autobot regime was and further justifying the rise of the Decepticons -- building on what we saw in Megatron Origins. I also like how it was Megatron who inspired Orion Pax too. ;) (a bit cliché perhaps) Still not impressed with the way Milne draws mouths though... so lacking in a range of expressions (it's as if they're all Muppets or something). The different ways that Optimus and Rodimus experienced their bonding with the Matrix was interesting too. One thing that bugs me with the writing here - and tbh…

So is anyone interested in this? I haven't really taken well to Drift myself but I'm a big fan of Alex Milne's art which should make this series for me.

Has anyone had any problems with the covers of their IDW trades? I just pulled my copy of Transformers Revelation off the shelf to find the back and front covers covered in raised up lines in the plastic coating them use on the covers. I also noticed Devastation has one of these lines too. Anyone know what this is, how to fix and if possible how to prevent?

I was wondering if someone could point out a "checklist" that tells what order the IDW comics should be read in. I have an opportunity to read some and it would help me greatly if I didn't have to sort them just by date published. (I also understand that some of them are "out of continuity" or whatever.) Any help you could offer would be appreciated. Thanks in advance, John

Whats the best order to read these in? I was thinking about going back and reading through all of them since it's been a while. I have all the books in their TPB versions. The "tion" books are numbered but i don't know who's Spotlights to read and when since they are all grouped together. I've looked for a list on the interwebs but didn't find anything super promising. I found this list but it hasn't been touched in almost 2 years. IDW comics any ideas would help. thanks.

GUYS IDW HAVE BEEN RIDING THE FRANCHISE FOR A FEW YEARS NOW AND I WAS CURIOUS AS TO WHAT EVERYONE ELSE THOUGHT OF THE JOB THEY HAVE DONE SO FAR? PERSONALLY I THINK ALL HAS BEEN GOOD..... WITH ONE EXCEPTION...... WHAT THE F**K WAS THE WHOLE DEAD UNIVERSE STORYLINE? I MEAN WHAT A WASTE OF CLOSE TO 2 YEARS WORTH OF BUILD UPS. A DREAD THAT THREATENS THE EXISTENCE OF THE ENTIRE UNIVERSE.... A CORRUPTED NEMESIS PRIME... GALVATRON..... INDESTRUCTIBE BAD ASS BOTS FROM THE DEAD UNIVERSE..... ( NOT SO INDESTRUCTIBLE SINCE SIDESWIPE BEAT THE S**T OUT OF TWO OF THEM ) SO MUCH DREAD AND YET SUCH A POOR CONCLUSION.... I WAITED FOR AGES TO SEE PRIME AND NEMESIS GO TOE T…

Sometimes I feel some of the people doing mosaics can actually do a better job at drawing transformers compared to the "current", transformers artist. if you had a choice which transformers fan artist would you like to become an official one doing comics?

Note: spolier if you have not read # 100 Just found out how it ends, and frankly, I'm disappointed. All of that, just to see pretty much every character from Cybertron croak, and Primus pretty much dust. That pretty much ruined the Marvel series for me. Think I'll leave it at the last official Marvel one, where they all go home. That said, I know other folks are going to have a different view, and many probably will see it differently from me. Your thoughts (please keep it at the level of issues and not personalities here; my opinion is just that.…

OK...at the end of Spotlight Kup....Kup is basically insane and near death. Spotlight Drift...and AHM...he's back to normal. He hints at Perceptor rebuilding him. Did I miss an issue at some point?

Lets all review & rate the Re-generations 80.5 freebie issue. Spoilers are inside thread, you've been warned, this is a review. My 2 cents: This freebie comic was pure awesome. it had a even mixture of flash back & newer story arcs/plots getting introduced. I love simon furman & the way he writes TF comics. the man is a genious. he's got this mystical magic when he writes. I really missed simon from the TF IDW comics & his return here was pure awesome & dynamite. While I'm a huge Simon furman fan. Even I must admit that second page. where simon explains what he's been up to since 1991 was way over the top & in the level of supreme se…

Can someone list all Transformers crossovers released so far? I'm mostly after GI Joe vs Transformers series, but I have no clue on how many series are out there.

Has anyone ever tried recoloring the old Marvel comics with photoshop?

I just read the first issue yesterday and I love how it bridges Revelations with All Hail Megatron. The only thing that throws it off is that Hotrod, and Sunstreaker are on earth while in AHM they are on Cybertron. Maybe issues 2-5 will bridge those gaps even more though. Oh and Hasbro lets see you guys make some Dinobot figs that look like these comic incarnations. That would be :awsum
