Well, I am riding high after seeing the movie, and my day was such a roller coaster, I just have to share. I am on vacation this week, and literally did nothing constructive today in anticipation of seeing the movie tonight. I live in a smallish town, with only one movie theater, and we decided to see it there instead of traveling 30 miles to a larger town with several theaters. Part of me was disappointed, as I was hoping to see fun fan related stuff, but hey, at least we saved gas money. My wife and I got two TF T-Shirts for our kids to wear to the show. I looked all over for one in my size, but the only one I found ended up still being too small. A Hot Topic 3…

While the movie is good and all, there is an issue I have with how easily all the transformers seem to die. Or more accurately, how easily they are hurt by human weapons. Some of them make sense, but others don't at all. To be fair, let's give a rundown of these instances: 1. When scorponok fights the troops, they have to send 2 vollys of helicopter missiles at him. First they use regular ones, and he's still going, then they use bigger missiles and scorponok is finally wounded enough to run away. Seeing as scorponok is just a pet/minion thing and still took this much human firepower to fend off, this made perfect sense to me. No problem here. 2. Frenzy getting ha…

Okay. I saw the movie last night (pretty much a day and half earlier than I expected to do so). Now a couple of things about sizes. Now I'm just going to say for the record that first of all, I know what the official stated sizes are, and secondly it could have just been the fast pace of the sequences that I could have been mislead. Now, Frenzy looks a lot smaller than 6 feet tall. If that'd been the case, he should have been as tall as if not taller than Sam, but when we see him attack Sam, he's small. More like 3-4 feet tall. Megatron didn't look all that much bigger than Prime. Brawl (I'm calling him so since Hasbro who owns the license have the final …

Okay... One thing that REALLY works for me in the movie... We learn that modern cars and lasers were reverse engineered from Megatron. Now, the timeline of it doesn't quite make sense BUT... It does solve the bit about why you have robots who turn into (Cybertronian) cars who are easily able to disguise as earth vehicles. So, in the movie story, cars are all based on Cybertronian technology. It's not that the robots happen to turn into cars. It's that our cars and cell phones and machines are secretly based on them. Everything from your boombox to your toaster to your car is Cybertronian tech, which is why Autobots and Decepticons can disguise as our tech. …

Did anyone else think "MASS SHIFTING!" when Frenzy folded up from a 3 or 4 foot robot into the size of a cell phone? Discuss.

Just like the scene where the camera/phone whatever it was comes to life, if you had access to that little radiation chamber what would you throw in there to turn into your own little transformer? Personally, I'd use a PS3 controller in a heartbeat. Or even better, my own REAL gun megatron.

In this season of summer movies, few movies will gleefully target and pander to it's audiences with politician-like precision as obviously as Transformers: The Movie. We're talking broad strokes with bright crayons. Much like its male protagonist Sam Witwicky, this is a movie that wants to be liked by everyone and tries hard to win over ALL its audiences.
