How Much will the Movie Make

If you count the entire WEEK that it's going to be opening (night of 7/2 - night of 7/8), I'm gonna say that it'll easily top all other movies' opening weekend grosses (the ones for this year I mean). Besides that, I don't know; I suck at math.

I'm betting that it won't top Spidey 3's - which I think benefited from being released in the face of zero competition.

$500 million worldwide before the Wednesday release of Potter here in the states.

I'll take that bet.

um I got a nickel and a quarter

opening day (is it monday, now?) - $21 million (whos gonna go to the theater on monday?)

opening weekend (monday-wed) - $94 million

opening week (monday-sunday) - $152 million

worldwide total - $825 million

til the dvd... is this worldwide or domestic? dont think i can answer that one.. hehe

Let's see, take the number of posters here, plus the ones on TFW2005, multiply by $8...

Just kidding. I'm sure it'll make a mint. If this summer's taught me anything it's that people just want to see every movie that comes out, no matter what. Even if the movie blows goats it'll still be raking in the dough. It's pretty much a lock.

hmmm, judging by the reaction from normal folk (not us fan boy nerds) this movie is going to decimate. i don't think it'll beat potter, but i think it's going to give it a good run when all's said and done.

Not as much as the sequel will.

(Speaking as a Potter fanboy) I am of the opinion that the HP movie will not be as enormously huge as it could be. The final book is coming out at almost exactly the same time, and I guarantee that for 100% of the HP fandom the book trumps ALL else. Plus, there is Transformers and all the other summer movies that have already come out. I think "too much all at once" will keep ticket sales from being OMG HUGE, at least at first. I could be wrong though. That's just my sense about it.
