So... I have decided to get off my butt and make a roadbuster for my collection. But I am a bit confused on what I should use as the figures base... Should I go the general route and use the Calloway conversion kit with the Crossover captain america/ironman mold. Or should I use the new Prime bulkhead figure?

So the short story goes like this. This was a commission for a private client who requested a bot heavily influenced by g1 cliffjumper. I designed it to borrow from the vehicle the original toy was based off of with multiple points of articulation in the bot mode. The Porsche is in 1/32 scale which puts cliffjumper at about 5.25" tall (about 135mm). He comes equipped with guns based off of various episodes from the MTME and his idw's spotlight spear. This version was printed by shapeways in ultra detail and some of the internal components were printed in black/strong/flexible. Because most of him is printed in ultra detail, he's pretty fragile. He was painted with modelma…

I've managed to keep a narrow profile in relation to his Whiskey barrel design by having the rear dino legs fold behind the robot leg. From the front he still retains a slim profile. His robot feet sit atop the Triceratops back but rotate and roll under the leg to form a fully articulated foot for robot mode. (Which also reveals more robot tech) The "wings" on his back fold within the body so they end up less obtrusive and also helps with keeping him compact rather than the kibblefest that the Dinobots actually are. ^^Using a "Fender" like design, I made his dino legs tuck into the body when in Triceratops mode to give it a heavy duty "tank" feel. When he trans…

The year is 2300 and humanity is all but extinct. The world is ablaze with an unchanging season of heat and the only sounds echoing in the once thriving cities are that of machines. But still the war between the Autobot and Decepticon forces rage on. Here I give you a frightening new vision of a post-apocalyptic Transformers. This End of the Road Bumblebee was once a Cyberfire Bee with all sorts of custom modifications with various fodder parts to give him a 'Mad Max' look. Rusted, oxidized, weathered paint effects were achieved with various layers of washes and sponge-on techniques. Chains, gatling guns, hoses, scrap shield, and other weapons were added to give him a fai…

Here's a cross between a Generations look and the Animated Transformers look for Megatron using the twin-propeller helicoptor form. The head is from a 2-pack Deluxe tank-Megatron, body from DOTM Skyhammer, prop engine joints from a megablocks Halo figure, and rotors from two of those PCC Searchlights. I modded a DOTM Jolt mech-tech weapon to fit under the helicopter folded up and extend to full size for Megatron's cannon. The props unplug and fit behind his shoulders or the blade attach on his forearms in robot mode. I hard-edge-highlighted everything to add detail and gave him some shoulder plugs to simulate Animated Megatron's design even more. His chest rotor was remov…

Everyone's favorite Autobot with an Napoleon complex always gets the short end of the stick. First we get a Bumblebee figure, then a repainted BB with a horned head for our Cliffjumper. It ain't right! This custom was inspired by the All hail Megatron comic, as the character art really sets him apart visually from BB. The head was sculpted from a Cybertron Megatron head. The hands were replaced with ones from an Alternator. The torso was re-sculpted and other parts of the original figure (M.A.R.S. Converter Drifter) was modified from the original. Enjoy!

Inspired by Nick Roche and Josh Burcham's work in Last Stand of the Wreckers, Ironfist was created using DOTM deluxe Ratchet and 3D prints (head, mid-section, and fists) that I created and destrongerlupus helped me test. I also did a minor mod to the ratchet figure to help widen his chest and show more of his arms. Paints involved a black primer with Model Master's "Fabric Tan" spray and brush on Model Master's "Cobalt Blue" enamel and Floquil Railroad Colors "Up Light Orange". You can make your own using a DOTM Ratchet and parts form here http://www.shapeways.com/shops/wheeljack click on image for full gallery
